About Me
Hi there! I'm a teacher Alaska with a sense of adventure! I love traveling and experiencing new and different things.
I recently moved to Kenai but previously I taught in a Yup'ik Eskimo village. I definitely have a passion for their culture and love sharing what I learned during my time there.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I just finished a road trip from Indiana to Alaska with a friend. We decided to couch surf on the way up. Ive hosted a couple couch surfers in Kenai and love the networking and storytelling opportunities! I've had an awesome experience with CS and plan to do more soon!
Interests
Beading, crafting, cooking, meeting new people, and exploring new places! I recently picked up playing ukulele and love playing. My students love it too...there's something magical about us all song Hakuna Matata together at circle time!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I know it says one thing….but I can't decide
After college, I packed up all of my things and moved to an Eskimo village in rural Alaska to teach. The first few months were tough, but it turned out to be a wonderful experience.
I studied abroad in Liverpool, England in college and right before I went back to the states, I backpacked through Italy with a couple classmates. We had some very interesting moments….which are little too lengthy for here, but I would do it all over again in a heart beat!
Teach, Learn, Share
I can share stories of the places I've been and people I've met. I studied abroad in college and had the opportunity to travel and learn about other cultures. I teach all English Language learners and love to talk about language and culture.
I'm also really into crafting and jewelry making. Many of the designs I have learned from elders in my village. I also make many modern designs as well. I would love to show you how!
