About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To get through life one day at a time
ABOUT ME
I love to travel. I'm finally settled in New Zealand and loving it, but over the next couple of years I will be back and forth between New Zealand and Karnataka, India for PhD research. I'm a vegetarian, and try to be eco-friendly. I'm a humanitarian, writing a thesis about devadasis. I love adventures and laughing.
PHILOSOPHY
I think everything in life revolves around balance...this is what it all comes down to. Politics, religion, economics, relationships...balance is the key to all of these things. The challenge is finding that balance and living accordingly.
Live every day to it's fullest potential because Mother Nature is far more powerful than you, and your last day on this planet is just not predictable.
Don't let others deter you from your dreams and passions.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I enjoy the priviledge of being able to stay with others when travelling, and have also loved hosting people in the past, though currently this is not possible. :(
I'm also always keen to meet up for a drink (coffee, tea, beer...whatever works for you!).
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Always positive. A great way to meet people, especially when travelling alone! Have stayed with a few people now, and am finally enjoying giving back by hosting others! It's cool to make friends from all over the world.
Interests
I love relaxing to good music and a good glass of red wine. I enjoy cooking, a lot. Philosophical conversations, sharing stories, etc. I'm a outdoor kind of person. I feel at one with nature and would rather sleep in the bush than on a couch, but this isn't always practical! Yoga and meditation are a big part of my life, and have become my way of maintaining balance.

Music, Movies, and Books
I like indie flicks and docos, I also tend to enjoy a lot of indie music, although I think all music is just wonderful. Books...A Fine Balance, The Poisonwood Bible, Eat, Pray, Love.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I have ridden camels across three entirely different deserts throughout the world. I have a lot of amazing stories to share.
Teach, Learn, Share
When I am doubting myself, I read this quote and think again about exactly what it is I am doubting...
"If we do not offer ourselves to the unknown, our senses dull. Our world becomes small and we lose our sense of wonder. Our eyes will not lift to the horizon; our ears will not hear the sounds around us. We pass our days in a routine that is both comfortable and limiting. We soon wake up to find we have lost our dreams in order to protect our days. Fear of the unknown and the lure of comfortable space will conspire to keep you from taking the chances you should take. But if you take a chance, you will never regret the choice. To be sure, there will be moments of doubt when you stand alone on an empty road in the pouring rain, or when you are ill with fever in a rented bed. But as the pains of the moment will come; so will they ever fade away. In the end you will be so much richer, so much stronger, so much happier, and so much the better person for having taken the risk and hardship. There will be nothing to compare to the insight you have gained".- Kent Nerburn
