About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Travel. Enjoy life. Meet new people. Get perspective on environmental work around the world.

ABOUT ME

I'm 23 years old and am trying to make the most of being this age. Since college I have worked down in Texas, outside of Austin, at an Outdoor Ed camp and then I just got done working in Seattle, doing conservation work. As you can tell my life is very environmentally based. I'm a very layed back person who gets along with everyone. I am very independent person and like going into situations where I don't know anyone! (it makes things exciting) ... more on me ... I like to play soccer, run and bike ride... I do enjoy camping and hiking, but nothing extreme. I would much rather be outside than inside. and I enjoy sitting down and enjoying a good beer.

PHILOSOPHY

Everything happens for a reason.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I'v never used this site before. However, a good friend, that i will shortly be traveling with, recommended it. He and I are traveling to Europe in a couple weeks and don't know too many people over there. We are looking to have a unique, more local experience in the places we go. I can't wait!!!!! I think I will give back, by being a host, much later in my life when I am actually settled somewhere.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Can't wait to have my first experience!

Interests

In no particular order....Soccer. reading. writing. running. bike riding. maybe hiking. I surfed once, and loved it. same goes for white water rafting. relaxing. beer. I love my family. Don't know what I would do without my friends. Travel. music. coffee.

Music, Movies, and Books

Jane Green is my favorite author. I really liked Into the Wild by Jon Krakauer (the book, not the movie) and I most recently read Silent Spring by Rachel Carson.

I'v been trying to get into new music lately, some of that includes Monsters of Folk, the Helios Sequence, The Innocence Mission, Band of Horses, Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros ... of course I also like Bright Eyes, Ben Harper, MGMT Arcade Fire, The Flaming Lips and the list could go on ....

Haven't seen any good movies lately, but ones I will never get sick of are Almost Famous, The Shawshank Redemption and 10 things I hate about you

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Summited my first mountain at 5495 ft elevation at Silver Peak in Mt Baker National Forest in North Bend, WA!!!!!!!!!!!! Talk about a moment of clarity. Also, I am proud to say that I have planted over 100 trees so far in my lifetime.
