Overview
About Me
Hi!
My name is Niklas and I'm a 22-year-old student from Hesse, Germany. My greatest passion is language learning and literature, and I'm also an aspiring author myself. I'm studying historical linguistics, literature science and cultural science with great passion and success. My biggest love in the world of languages is by no doubt the Irish language and all of its history and dialects. I'm also fluent in English and French, which I both often use at University. I am very fond of discussing politics, philosophy, art, music, literature, history and all kinds of stuff that is dealing with the human condition and nature. I just enjoy learning new things and exploring other peoples realities. I'm a very easy going guy and pretty low maintenance, because I value the small things and I don't need to live in a fancy, luxurious abode to enjoy my stay ;)
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Because, like a lot of people, I have too long prolonged the execution of my desire to travel to places I've always wanted to see and experience :)
A more current reason is my search for a place to stay for one month while I'm (hopefully) doing an internship at Cló Iar-Chonnacht in Indreabhán, Conamara.

Music, Movies, and Books
Music: Of Monsters and Men, Daughter, Rise Against, epic orchestral music (I love to listen to that while I write :D)
Movies: The Lord of the Rings (my favourite ones!), The Hunger Games, Pan's Labyrinth, Interstellar, Monty Python Films
Books: The Lord of the Rings (obviously...), An Crann Géagach (Pádraic Ó Conaire), Bucolica (Virgil), Poésies (Stéphane Mallarmé)
and many many more :)
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
After my High-School Graduation, I traveled with my brother and two friends from Germany to Brittany only by bicycle, and we experienced 1000km of cultural immersion, occasional suffering, but first and foremost the authentic feeling of freedom and pure enjoyment of life. I would love to do this again sometime in the future.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach you German, French or Irish and share my perspective on the beauty of life, nature, and thoughts :) I love to hear about the same things from your perspective, and I'd be more than happy to learn about your native language!
What I Can Share with Hosts
Long deep conversations about virtually everything you can imagine :) And my knowledge of languages of course :P
