About Me

Well, I guess it’s time now to write something down :) I’m Niko, originally I come from Frankfurt, but in 2011 I moved to Ingolstadt for a dual course of study offered by the local car manufacturer. In 2016 I finished my study and began to work as an engineer. Since then I enjoy all the free time I have by doing sports or travelling whenever it’s possibile.
I’m a very open-minded and friendly person who always wants to undertake something and get to know new things and have fun. Doing nothing is not one of my strengths ;)

Some words to my interests:
As I’m a very active person, I like to do many kind of sports. Especially when I can do them outside in the Mountains. My great passion is mountainbiking. It allows me to see a lot of nature in quite a short time and gives me a lot pleasure. I also enjoy skiing and hiking a lot. As indoor activites I do crosstraining, fitness and a lots of climbing/ bouldering.
After doing sports I love to cook myself a nice meal. I’m also very excited in foreign foods. When there’s enough time and motivation I sometimes try baking.
I’m also very interested in technical stuff and like to disassemble things to see how they work – in most cases I am repairing my bikes or cars after I tested them out and exceeded their limits :D

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Because of all the trips I do on the weekends I drive a lot with my car. As it’s boring to ride alone, I’m offering a ride to foreign people via Blablacar for several years now. It is amazing, because most passengers come from other countries and have interesting stories to tell – about their lives and the countries they come from. So I asked myself: Hey, why not sharing my flat when I already share my car? A friend of mine told me about CS and I like the idea behind it. Of course I also want to be hosted by interesting people all over the world who can give me impressions of their countries and cultures that I wouldn’t be able to get by sleeping in hotels.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

On a roadtrip through Austria, Slovenia and Croatia with one of my best friends, we were hiking up a very steep mountain in Triglav Mational Park in Slovenia. We spent the night up there near to a beautiful little lake. It was a strange but awesome feeling to be there with hearing all the animals. The next morning we went down during sunrise with an outstanding panorama and the fog below us and took a bath in a cold lake at the bottom of the mountain when the sun was suppressing the fog of it. That was impressive.

Teach, Learn, Share

I would like to improve my English skills, so that I can speak more fluently with a wider range of vocabulary. I can teach you in German and all the stuff I know. If you are interested, I can explain you everything about cars: their parts with functions, the development process and a lot about driving dynamics and the physical basis.

What I Can Share with Hosts

A lot of motivation to go out and do stuff that makes fun...and my couch of course :D
