About Me
CURRENT MISSION
I just started a position as assistant professor in Suzhou, China and am getting back into CouchSurfing after some wonderful experiences here over the past few years :)
BACKGROUND
I am interested in cultures, love learning new languages, music that you won't hear on the radio, odd places, and their stories, what they are, why they are that way... Isn't it a great thing to experience and question the things around us?
PHILOSOPHY
Understand which good forces move this world, what is a good life, what questions we haven't asked yet...

MY "HISTÓRICO" (earlier missions)
After spending two semesters abroad (one in Shanghai, on in Mexico City) I graduated in East Asian Politics and Economics. From 2015-2019, I worked as a research assistant and did my Master's in Curitiba, PR at the Universidade Tecnológica Federal do Paraná, researching on Payments for ecosystem services and the IPBES regional assessment of biodiversity conservation at the UNU-IAS project Studio Cities and Biodiversity and at my MA program Research Groups on Public Policies and Territorial Dynamics. I did a PhD in environmental sociology at the State University of Campinas / São Paulo, Brazil and now
focus (again) on China-Latin American relations and the new global environmental order and China's "Construction of an Ecological Civilization"
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I like meeting new people, hear new travel stories, try new dishes, remake those that are attached to affective memories and share and discuss bits about the world that I have been lucky to get to know :)
I've been hosted by six amazing hosts for far and was super warmly welcome in the Mexico City community that made my wish to stay in this network even stronger, despite the recent subscription model...
I've surfed couches in:
Haarlem, Netherlands
Prague, Czeck Republic
Monterrey, México
Porto, Portugal
Bento Gonçalves, RS, Brazil
Florianópolis, SC, Brazil

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
When I arrived in Mexico City, I dropped into a CouchSurfing meeting in a park and found people who helped me settle, took me into their homes, helped me find a place to rent, took me out for day trips - and organized a birthday party in the Xochimilco canals just a few days after I had met them... absolutely maravilloso! :)
