About Me

Well, where do I start... I've seen these little "about you" boxes so many times, and I have to admit, most of the time I do get stumped in not knowning what to say. This time, I think I finally get to say what I really think about myself.
I work hard, like most of us in life, and we go through our daily lives wondering what the hell are we doing. Are we accomplishing what we set ourselves to do, or are we just going with the flow? I have to say, I came to a realization about 10 years ago... while planning an Asian grand tour, I sat down to speak with my father.
This man has been a role model to me for years! He's worked his entire life.. from age 12 to now age 72. He's accomplished a lot business wise.. and he still has visions and goals in doing more in business. However, when he asked me why I was going half way around the world to do some crazy trip, I looked him in the eye and said "Because in my mind, I have so much more to live for and explore...''
I agree with him in that we should work hard, and do the best we can with our careers. However, we also can't lose track in the fact that our lives are short. We only have so much time to live our lives to our full potential. But to what full potential? What is it that drives us to live? Should we live to work? Or should we work to live!
I spent many hours, days, months, years of my life in a cubical working crazy painstaking hours , making the pay many dream of... But, will that satisfy my dreams in the end? Will I wake up one morning at age 75 or 80 and say 'Wow that's been a great life!"?
I believe, in the end, we should be able to look back on our lives and remember the experiences we have been through. With these experiences, we should be able to determine if we have lived our lives to the fullest! Meeting people, learning about the world we live in by first hand experiences.. trying new things... These are all life experiences we all need to see first hand and not by the tales of others. I believe with this goal in mind, I will keep striving to learn! Not about the world itself, but of myself living in this world!
After the conversation, which would you rather be? The hard worker with your head facing down and not seeing or experiencing life? or the one that uses work as a tool to achieving other life experience goals and getting the most from this World?
