Hey, I’m Timm, Researcher and Journalist, salsa-dancer and activist, teamworker and guitarist.

I’ve always loved to travel, meet exiting people, understand different societies and experience new Cultures. And right now I’ve the possibility to go for it again!

Since the beginning of 2022 I’m writing my PhD in Human Geography. I’m investigating into neighbourhood organizing in times of post-pandemia and economic crisis in Spain and the UK.

Thats why I’m going to travel serval times in the next years to these two interesting countries to get to know the inspiring housing and neighbourhood movements and projects that exist there.

I’ve hosted people at my place and been couchsurfing mostly in the time of 2010-2013. I remember this great time and thats why I’d love to get in contact with a new couch-community, for my (short) stays in diffrent cities in Spain and the UK.

While my stays I’ll mostly be in contact with different projects, doing interviews, participating in their work or stay some time in the nearby university to work on my thesis. At the same time I’ll be trying to deep dive into the society, it’s economic, political and cultural foundations – and of course one of the best ways to do that is just to have a nice chat in the evining with my host :)

So all in all I can be a flexible and quiet visitor as well as a companion a drink in a salsa bar, or a jam-session – just as it fits best.

Siempre me ha gustado viajar, conocer nueva gente, entender diferentes sociedades y experimentar nuevas culturas. ¡Y ahora mismo tengo la posibilidad de hacerlo de nuevo!

Desde principios de 2022 estoy escribiendo mi doctorado en Geografía Humana. Estoy investigando sobre la organización vecinal en tiempos de pospandemia y crisis económica en España y el Reino Unido.

Es por eso que voy a viajar durante los próximos años a estos dos interesantes países para conocer los inspiradores movimientos y proyectos de vivienda y barrios que existen allí.

He alojado a personas en mi casa y he estado haciendo couchsurfing principalmente en el período 2010-2013. Recuerdo muy bien este tiempo y por eso me encantaría entrar en contacto con una nueva couch-comunidad, para mis (cortas) estancias en diferentes ciudades de España y Reino Unido.

Durante mis estadías, estaré mayormente en contacto con diferentes proyectos, haciendo entrevistas, participando en su trabajo o permaneciendo algún tiempo en una universidad cercana para trabajar en mi tesis. Al mismo tiempo, trataré de profundizar en la sociedad, sus fundamentos económicos, políticos y culturales y, por supuesto, una de las mejores maneras de hacerlo es tener una agradable charla por la noche con mi host :)

Entonces, en general, puedo ser un visitante flexible y tranquilo, así como un acompañante para tomar una copa en un bar de musica salsa o hacer una jam-session, tal como mejor te parece :)
