About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To share a story, a smile, my seat, my space, a mattress, or a meal.
ABOUT ME
My name is Nils, mistakenly pronounced like many nothings or pluralizing a river in Egypt, when in fact it is pronounced "kneels" - think meals, wheels, feels. I aim to meet people with different perspectives. I aim to remember their names. I aim to laugh at myself, and funnily there is no shortage of opportunity. I aim to work hard, in doses, and always find time to play.
Diversity of character is something I appreciate, and I find joy in the company of a quiet introvert as well as a gregarious orangutan.
I never grow tired of eating oatmeal. Cooked, raw, with honey or yogurt or nuts, in a bowl or in a bar, its the perfect anytime food.
"I have been crucified with Christ, and it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and delivered Himself up for me" (Galatians 2:19-20).
I have a beautiful wife whom I married in 2015.
PHILOSOPHY
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I surf, which means diving in and taking my chances, being patient, being generous and yielding to others, while also looking for opportunity for a thrilling ride, but not at another's expense. Beginners and experts, boys and girls, young and once-young, all are welcome. I trust that the memories and friendships survive long after the couch has met its demise.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I am a good fit with the CS philosophy. Nothing but positive hosting and visiting experiences so far.
Interests
I love things that bounce. I'm happiest in shorts and sneakers. But what really grabs my attention?... grace, forgiveness, resiliency, perseverence, compassion, and strength of character.
- dining
- running
- socializing
- scuba diving
