Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I was on my daily bus right to my job at the office back in Germany and met a girl from Australia in the bus that was traveling Europe. Oh my gosh I thought, how enriching would that be to have hosted someone like her!

It is so unbelievably great to travel to somewhere you haven't been and then you meet someone who is excited about you being there and wants to get to know you. I'm so grateful for the likely minded people I met through couchsurfing in Gdansk, Poland and Groningen, the Netherlands and which became good friends.

Interests

I really like sports! My favorite sports are beachvolleyball, kitesurfing, running, hiking aaaand a bit of yoga. Stuff that I would like to learn would be acro yoga and surfing I would like to do again.

I used to play the drums and now I would like to get back into music, possibly with another instrument like guitar or piano.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I was with a friend and we randomly saw an event on facebook organized by erasmus students in Gdansk, Poland in which they wanted to give out free hugs to strangers. We found that idea so great that we spontaneously went to Gdansk to join this event. In Gdansk we stayed via couchsurfing with Jess. Jess was an incredibly awesome host and because of her I realized how great couchsurfing is. We had great fun together and because of her we experienced the city from the view of a local! It amazed me how generous she was to us and it inspired me to do the same for others. A couple of years later we met spontaneously when realizing that we are traveling in the same city! And yeah it happened that the guy organizing the free hug event and I live both in Oslo now and we will organize the same event in Oslo together and might do a trip together. Hell yeah life is great! :D

Teach, Learn, Share

One thing I enjoyed most about living abroad in the Netherlands since 3 years is that I met so many internationals. I learned so much from being around people that are not from my home country, this enriched my life a lot and is part of what I am now.
I would like to improve my skills in surfing (wave) and kitesurfing. Further I like to do acroyoga and would be happy to do a acroyoga jam session anywhere on the way :)
I like to cook main dishes as well as deserts and am happy to cook for fellow couchsufers/hosts/new friends along the way :)
I like yoga and mindfulness too and am happy to share my thoughts about it.
