Overview
About Me
Hi there! I am a Brazilian-Canadian guy who immigrate to Canada 12 years ago. I am divorced and have no family in Canada, so meeting new people is something I am always looking for.
I live in the west-end suburbs of Ottawa, about 25 minutes drive from downtown. I work for a major electronics manufacturing company as a Photonics Engineer.
I love cooking, hiking, swimming, bicycling, camping, traveling, reading a good book, etc. I don't smoke and drink socially. And if you would like to try the most amazing "caipirinha" (Brazil's national cocktail), you found the right guy!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I am a newbie to Couchsurfing, just learned about this community a few weeks ago, from a friend I met through Facebook. I then went to to one Ottawa Meetup and was amazed by the friendliness of people who attended.
I live alone and have a spare guest room, so I am now learning the bolts and nuts of hosting and getting to know people from different parts of the world.

Music, Movies, and Books
I am very eclectic about music, but having been a teenager through the 80s, that's probably the kind of songs I enjoy most. The last book I read was Inferno by Dan Brown, which I give two thumbs up.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I love street food and I tasting new things, so I tried some very unusual things when I was in China. For example, I ate scorpions in a stick.
Teach, Learn, Share
Well, I guess I can teach you some Portuguese, and show you Ottawa around. There are some very nice places to go in this city, specially between May and October.
