About Me
ABOUT ME
I've lived in Munich for a year and a half. I spend most of my time reading and thinking about exercising. I'm starting a PhD program in political science in the fall. I love cooking and baking.
PHILOSOPHY
I don't know; I just try to be nice to people.

Music, Movies, and Books
I love several genres of books: Modern American literature (John Steinbeck, Kurt Vonnegut, Richard Yates), British literature (I just finished Vanity Fair, but I also enjoy Dickens), and works from or about the Middle East (Alaa Al Aswany, The Forever War...). Let me know if you have any suggestions. I think I've spent a third of my waking hours since I arrived in Munich reading.
I love a good melancholy movie like The Darjeeling Limited, Babel, or Garden State, but lately I've been watching tv shows on Netflix.
I'm still sorting out my musical tastes, but Beirut can make any day better.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Watched hundreds of Chinese lanterns be released simultaneously over the Arno River in Pisa.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach you how to cook/bake some of my favorite foods from around the world (Persian, Arab, Mexican, Italian, American). I can knit, speak a little Arabic, and I'm also pretty decent at playing Settlers of Catan :)
