About Me

Currently teaching English to primary school kiddos in Chile. I'm first generation Russian born in the U.S., graduated university in May of 2015 and moved to South America to practice my Spanish, teach English, and explore and see more of the world.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I have been living with a host family for the past couple of months and have seen how living with a local opens your eyes to aspects of a country you would never see as a common tourist. I want to continue traveling in Chile, seeing the authentic side of life in this country as well as share experiences and meet new cool people!

Music, Movies, and Books

Some of my favorite music artists would have to be Mac DeMarco, Courtney Barnett, Arctic Monkeys, Deer Tick, First Aid Kit, Amy Winehouse, Nina Simone, Childish Gambino, Earl Sweatshirt, and J Cole.

I love binge watching T.V. shows, but my all time favorite is HBO's The Wire.

Movies are harder to pinpoint which are my favorite, but Wristcutters a Love Story, Boyhood, Requiem for a Dream or anything by Wes Anderson or Tarantino.

Books are also hard to say which is my favorite but I love Kurt Vonnegut, Pablo Neruda, Charles Bukowski, J.K Rowling, and Jack Kerouac.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Living in Alaska and learning how to mush dogs! It was one of the most amazing things I've ever done, out in the rugged wilderness of Alaska just with you and the dogs on the trail! Truly incredible.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can help if you want to learn English or Russian, I'm always down to cook and share a meal, how to properly eat a (Maryland) Blue Crab.
