About Me
Hey there :))
I'm Nina - happy, sunny, red-hairy and always open for doing new things :D
I'm born, grown up and in love with Berlin -Eventhough I'm often travelling, I'm always glad to come back, because I truly love this city!
I am studying law, which keeps surprising people, who meet me. My plan was to become a lawyer for asylum seekers - I did a really moving internship at a law office, which had mainly asylum seeker clients. Nowadays I'm also thinking about specializing in criminal law. (Especially crimes of the "powerful", white collar crime, international criminal law)
But of course- I still have to figure out what is the right thing for me;)
I worked in a backpacker hostel for a really long time, where I met a lot of great, interesting and crazy people from all over the world and had interesting, funny or weird conversations with them- which is great - best job I could imagine!
Unfortunately I had to stop working there, because I needed the time for uni.
I joined couchsurfing, after my loved sister introduced me to it. We both had a great CS-experience in Frankfurt, where I realised how wonderful it is to stay with locals, who can show you around or tell you about the life in the country/town.
For me CS is not a cheap hostel.. it's a different way to travel and I think as a traveler you should try to give something back to the people that host you- whatever it will be;)
Three years ago I traveled around in Ireland, where I used Cs just once- also a great experience! - but also stayed with locals over a website called workaway.
I had an incredible great time there! With the families and people I stayed with, with my shared house roommates in Cork City and with all the friends I made.
Unfortunately it's difficult to host someone for me at the moment as I'm moving out of my flat, which is tiny and chaotic at the moment. Also a problem is that during university my days are so full, that I feel like I would have no time and I don't want to give someone just a bed....but I try to find a solution soon;)
I think I am a person you can have a lot of fun with- as well as long conversations (I'm interested in a lot of things!)
I like if people combine opposites.
random facts about me:
- I think, that we see ourselves just as a unity, because society taught us to do
- I already slept on a mountain, climbing frame, beach, cave, tree, jukebox
- I prefer sitting on the ground than on chairs
- Sometimes I bore my friends with “interesting” facts about vegetables
-In Berlin is always waiting a Teddy for me, who is as high as me but twice as fed..and a pink unicorn…and a cupboard full of cuddly toys…and someone who loves cuddly toys as much as me
-I am obsessed with avocados
- I love watching people dancing on their own way
- I love festivals
- I like standing on one leg
- when I moved out of my parents place, I realized that they taught me some words who doesn’t exist…well now they do ;)
So if you come to Berlin and need some advices- feel free to contact me!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I think the exciting and interesting thing about travelling is to learn more about the culture and the local people. Thats why I'm really glad about finding Couchsurfing. Even if I have only two couchsurfing experience yet, I used a website called workaway several times and experienced that it is something totally different and much more exciting to stay with locals while you are travelling. I met really great people through that!
Interests
I'm interested in a lot of things - mainly philosophy, politics, psychology - how our society works ... ans of course law theory and criminology.
I'm also interested in food and cooking. I've been a vegan for two years, but nowadays I decided to be just a vegetarian again (which I am since I was 9).
If you are a vegetarian/vegan by yourself- cool, we can cook together-
if not - cool, we can cook together ;)
I'm definitely not that kind of person, that anybody tells how he/she should live!
- culture
- festivals
- dancing
- dining
- cooking
- coffee
- vegetarian
- politics
- traveling
- metal music
- backpacking
- rock climbing

Music, Movies, and Books
music.....My favourite artist are Eluveitie, Dark Tranquillity, Summoning, Insomnium, Architects, Iron Maiden, Nirvana, Metallica, Alestorm, Irie revoltes, , Anti Flag,..
I mainly listen to different genres of metal, but
I also like punk, ska and psytrance -
what I really don't like is to answer this question, I hear a little bit of a lot of genres. A friend of mine said once: "there is no bad music genre, there are just some bad artists." I think I agree;)
favourite movies... mhmmm...there are so many! My father used to watch a movie with me every week till I moved out. So I have seen a lot of movies, but unfortunately most people don't share my movie-Flavour....I like more deep-thinking, realistic ones which are slow or not too fast.
So I'm not a big fan of the most poplar, modern ones.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I once bought a coffee at the bakery downstairs and drank it...it felt warm, energyfull and great!
