About Me

Hey there! My name is Nina Monteleone, and I am an American student studying international relations and Spanish and I am 21 years old :) I am extremely bubbly and energetic and talk a TON, so keep that in mind if you request me/answer my requests.

I am always happy to host people in my wonderful city! Keep in mind, however, that I don't use couch surfing as a free hotel. I use it as a way to share experiences and cultures and ideas. So if you are just looking to save some extra cash, I am probably not the girl for you.

I am new to the traveling world- I left my home country for the first time last year to live in Spain, and I quickly became addicted to seeing new places and always being on the move.

I am not fluent in Spanish, but I lived in Spain for 6 months so I am highly conversational. I can speak Portuguese on a simple level, as long as you are okay with me accidentally throwing in random Spanish words! I am obsessed with languages, and I have a few alphabets in the works so I will be adding some to my list soon ;)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I deeply desire to learn about other cultures. I hate staying in hotels, and couchsurfing allows you to truly understand a new culture. To me, that is ultimately the point of traveling, yeah? :)

I have only couchsurfed once at this moment but it was an INCREDIBLE experience. Every person I meet teaches me something new about the word and that is such a cool concept!!

I am obnoxiously outgoing, and thus talking to/meeting people is the coolest part of traveling to new places!

Interests

I love music, and all kinds from Rock to electronic (very much electronic!). I love to hike and I love to eat. I cook a lot when I am home. I love all outdoors activities. I also love to talk about politics, debate with me about anything!

I am also EXTREMELY into languages. So so passionate. I hope to some day be a polyglot, although I know this will take a bit more time. ;)

I also love beer. I am mostly a pale ale kind of girl, but I am not known to discriminate a well-made craft ale.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: ALL types honestly. But to narrow it down, tropical house music, Sublime, Jimi Hendrix, Enrique Inglesias, G. Love and Special Sauce, Mood Ruff, Ellie Goulding, Green Day, 21 Pilots, Ed Sheeran, Three Dog night, Lost Frequencies, John Mayer, Avett Brothers, Timeflies, and SO SO SO SO MANY MORE...

Movies: I am both an action chick and a strong romantic comedy chick.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I once rock climbed up a really difficult side of a rocky mountain in Spain for an hour before realizing there were steps on the other side... but it took a long enough time that the sunset was simply incredible from the top.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can help you with English or Spanish if you do not feel confident in your skills! I will share my culture if you share yours.

I will cook for you ALWAYS :) I can also help you clean!

I'd love to share a drink or dinner, and compare foods from your place and mine.

I will willingly talk about ANYTHING, I get so excited about random things and topics. Try me! ;)
