Overview
About Me
Being active in the outdoors, some chocolate (or maybe a little more) and a glimpse of sun every now and then - that's all it takes to make me happy.
I am a curious, optimistic, easy going person that can't stay in bed all day but loves to be out and about. Depending on my mood I sometimes like just being by myself but mostly I really enjoy good company and having adventures together with friends.
I am an IT Graduate (data science) with a special interest in oceanography and in my free time my main passions are rowing and trekking (no matter if it's hiking, biking, canoeing..).
Last September I moved to Glasgow to join my partner Duarte here and it's been great living together so far!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I read about couchsurfing in an article (can't even remember which magazine it was), googled it, was amazed and impressed by the concept and wanted to take part!
I have already made some very good experiences in Norway, Canada, Belgium and would love to meet more people from whereever and get to know their culture and points of view on what's going on in their country and the world.

Music, Movies, and Books
I really enjoy reading, so choosing a favourite is a tough choice. Here are some books that I really enjoyed and would definitely recommend others to read:
"Der Schwarm" - Frank Schätzing
"To kill a Mockingbird" - Harper Lee
"Kokoschka's doll" - Afonso Cruz
"Extremely loud and incredibly close" - Jonathan Safran Foer
"Girl, Woman, Other" - Bernadine Evaristo
"Lessons in Chemistry" - Bonnie Garmus
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I have already made too many great experiences to be able to choose just one... Therefore my three favourite ones:
Finishing the Kungsleden - a 450 km hike through Lappland in Northern Sweden.
Winning the European U23 Championships in rowing (It is - and I write this without being very patriotic in any point at all - a very special and somehow amazing feeling when the national anthem is played for your crew whilst you stand on the winner podium.)
Spending an entire year in New Zealand as a 15 year old and having the chance to be part of the most amazing hostfamily and make friends for a lifetime.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach some german, baking/ cooking and tell you a lot about rowing as well as give advice for long distance cycling trips and hikes.
As I really love food, I'm always interested in new recipes and flavours and I am happy to share my food.
Being a multicultural couple (German and Portuguese) living in Scotland, we can share a lot of our home places and differences. Duarte has however lived in Scotland for the past 3 years and knows a good deal about the country, that he is always happy to share.
