Über mich

I am a freelance artist in the NYC specializing in costume design for theater. I love traveling and meeting new people!

Warum ich bei Couchsurfing bin

I am about to embark on a 2 month trip starting by going on birthright to Israel. I hope to stay with locals in other cities/countries to get a more 'authentic' experience while traveling. While doing touristy things is fun, I like seeing places through the eyes of people who live there and know the ins and outs. And of course meeting people who know the best places to eat!

3 years ago I studied abroad in Florence, Italy. I only got to experience couch surfing once and it was one of the most fantastic experiences I had.

I've also hosted quite a few people on my couch, though not through this website (my roommate always set up the couch surfers). Simply, it's awesome meeting people of other cultures and sharing my favorite things about where I live :) It was refreshing to see my city through new perspectives.

Interessen

I'm pretty open about anything! I love theater, dance, sports (mostly American football and baseball but a great game is fun to watch regardless of the sport), food, art, relaxing on the beach... etc.

Musik, Filme und Bücher

Favorite movie: Moulin Rouge! Another favorite is Some Like It Hot. I also love spending an afternoon watching bad Sci Fi movies and eating cake (or anything decadently sweet).

Favorite book: I'm not a huge reader, but I read "Lonesome Dove" last year and that book was fantastic! "The Color Purple" was another book I absolutely loved.

Music: Open to just about anything, but not a huge fan of rap. Queen and David Bowie are my go-tos and I have a soft spot for classical music. I played the flute for many years and almost went into studying that professionally.

Eine tolle Erfahrung, die ich gemacht habe

Survived living on my own in NYC as an artist. It takes a lot of sacrifice, and sometimes doing jobs that I don't particularly care to do, but it's made me who I am. I absolutely enjoy my life here, as chaotic as it gets!

One amazing thing I'm about to do is to take my mom to Italy. We're going to meet up in Milan and travel to Venice, Florence, and Rome. Last year was rough when she got diagnosed with cancer. Thankfully her condition is improving. Now we just want to take advantage of what the world has to offer and I want to share all my favorite places in Italy with her.

Lehren, lernen, teilen

If you want to learn how to crochet or paint or weave or... I can teach you!

Or if you ever want to do anything for free in NYC, let me know. After living here 5 years I know the ins and outs of the city pretty well.

Was ich mit Gastgebern teilen kann

I like making new friendships and exploring new places. I'm sure we can find something new and fun to do for both of us!

I'd also be very interested in visiting local markets and cooking a meal together.
