Overview
About Me
I'm Dutch, adopted and love travelling. I'm always taking photos and videos for work, love meeting people, their food and getting to know more about the culture.
I'm currently a freelance filmmaker. All my stuff can be found on www.jellybeefilms.com. I've got my hands in many fingers/projects.
I also work as a video content producer/presenter for VRFocus. All videos can be found here: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC5lBL9piLzESlzzShLlFVnA (or google VRFocus).
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I love meeting the locals - getting to know the food, family, local secrets and I prefer becoming friends rather than being a 'tourist'.
I want to share experiences and want to really know a place - the best way of doing that is meeting the people that actually live there. Life is about human interaction and connections - and I am always looking for stories, pieces of nuggets (wisdom) and laughter.

Music, Movies, and Books
Music - I like live music. Anything with a deep bass to a beautiful single violin. I appreciate good lyrics and love singing along to things.
Movies- Don't get me started on this one! I'm very picky and will break and analyze a film into pieces. I have difficulties with rom-coms. My favourite director is Stanley Kubrick. I love 2001: Spacey Odyssey, Blade Runner, House of Flying Daggers, the LOTR trilogy, 12 Angry men, We need to talk about Kevin, Turtles Can Fly,
Books - I just finished the most amazing book called 'Sapiens:A Brief History of Humankind' by Yuval Noah Harari. Probably my favourite book right now. I also recommend 'Prisoners of Geography' by Tim Marshall. I most recently picked up an old favourite book ' The Call of the Wild' by Jack London.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Apparently I do amazing things all the time - but I'm unaware of them!
I've filmed a documentary about refugees for the UN which was screened at the world summit.
I've organized a Virtual Reality Haptics Surgery Hackathon.
I beat my high school record for 100m.
I've been chased by wild buffalo's and elephants in Africa.
I've worked with Riz Ahmed.
I'm part of a development programme for upcoming female, BAME filmmakers in the UK.
I'm co-founder of UNFOLD a meet up group about bring diversity into AR/MR/VR in London.
I used to have a gaming YouTube channel called Jellybeefilms (Jellybee was my Gamertag).
I've jumped off a bridge by hanging from a rope.
I'm curator for #Hackstock as part of the London Science Fiction Film Festival in 2017.
I've met the President of Guinea.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach:
1) basic piano!
2) How to edit videos in Adobe Premiere.
3) How to market yourself online through Facebook, Instagram and Twitter
4) Storytelling lessons
I want to learn:
Everything! If I can do it - and I don't put myself in harms way I am always willing to learn. Perhaps not learning how to scream for Death metal isn't my top priority right now.
Share:
I love sharing stories, advice and connecting you with the right people. I'm very good at networking, and if there is any opportunity to help another human in need - I will.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I can share stories, I can give free advice on how to market, film, promote a product online. I can connect them with people through my network or potentially post an add out through my network. I can sit and listen to their stories.
I have a huge interest in VR and am making a lot of content - I can give you the latest details about VR games/tech!
