About Me
Current mission:
Enjoy the last 4 weeks of 1,5 years traveling
Philosophy:
Come as a stranger - meet different people - hear different stories - have a laugh - learn more about the place you are - leave as a friend
And meet again somewhere else in this big wide world…
Couchsurfing experience:
Not so much over the official site but every time I hitched/hiked through a country I had the most amazing experiences with people inviting me to their home and beeing incredibly kind and generous.
I would be happy to give something back and help with cooking/cleaning/gardenwork!!
About me:
I think I have been infected by the traveling bug since we backpacked with the family around the world when I was 11.
Now I’m on the road (again), almost since 1,5 years. In this time I hiked for 7 months through NZ, worked 6 months on a remote tropical island, drove from Cairns to Melbourne and went hiking again like crazy in Tasmania.
Now just a couple of weeks off from returning home and start at University.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
It’s just the most amazing way to get to know a country without following the normal touristy trails.

Music, Movies, and Books
Movies: Inception, Butterfly Effect… and open to everything else.
Books: At the moment nibbeling on the book „Sapiens - a brief history of humankind“ but I do love (jep, it’s weird) fantasy as well. Harry Potter and Lord of the Rings were my childhood…
Music: There isn’t anything you could chase me with - okay, maybe Heavy Metal at 5am… Oh, and I‘ve been playing violin for 7 years, so I could bore you with random knowledge about classical music.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
- Solo hiking for several months in the NZ and Tasmanian wilderness
- Living 6,5 months on tiny Christmas Island
- Fighting of a dingo in the night (in hindsight it wasn’t amazing but more amazingly crazy)
- Diving with 50+ sharks at Fakarava South Pass
Teach, Learn, Share
If you want to learn German or Spanish or everything about scuba diving theory… well, I won’t claim to be a good teacher but I can try. =)
I love to learn about the place I am! Doesn’t matter what: Culture, geography, history…
What I Can Share with Hosts
A bunch of crazy travel stories from over 50 different countries.
Oh, and during my time having a french chef as a colleague I profed myself as a good recipe thief. Would be happy to create a good dinner for you! =)
