About Me
Hey everyone! A little bit about me...I'm waiting to see if the social constructs that tell me I should get married, buy a house, and raise some youngins are ever going to catch up to me...so far not so much! I don't have a significant other (at least not one I want to marry), I practically live from paycheck to paycheck so...there goes the house, and if I ever have children (maybe not), I am definitely adopting. There are too many unwanted babies in the world for me to go about making some more (and too many people in the world in general). So until I succumb to these white-picket-fence goals my parents set forth for me, I am just going to see where the wind blows. Lately, it has blown me into a kick-ass job with kick-ass people growing a progressive grassroots movement throughout the country. So that's a little bit about myself.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I love the idea of global citizenship. I am still unsure if it's practical/plausible for our world to continue to converge, but we are definitely headed in that direction. I think couchsurfing is a great outlet for different people with different world views to get to know each other, whether they live a couple miles away or a couple thousand; we all have things to teach each other. We all can abide having our eyes opened a little wider. It might make the world a little more peaceful.
Interests
I love the outdoors, hiking (not that much into biking, skiing, wakeboarding, or anything too extreme like that, but I love climbing mountains and just being outside). My best friend and I recently spent a month in Europe, and we are hoping to be able to take a big trip about once a year. Our plan is to visit Japan and Thailand in the spring, and the year after, climb Machu Pichu (my mother says "are you saving your money for a house?" I say "No, I'm saving for my next flight halfway around the world".) So I guess you could say I'm interested in travel and foreign places. And my best friend, I love her.
