About Me

ABOUT ME

I was born in South Africa but moved back to Belgium with my mother (she is from there) when I was six. First we lived in a small village with my grandparents. When I was nine we moved to Antwerp. The first five years we lived with my mothers boyfriend and his three children, until they broke up. That was great! (most of the time...). After that my father started dating their mother... Life can be crazy! So we still spend lots of time together, which makes me feel less like an only child :)

After ending my Masters at the University of Antwerp I decided to move to Berlin, where I lived for eight months. After that adventure I moved back to Belgium and started a bachelors in Film Production at the Flemish filmschool RITCS, in Brussels. The study was very interesting, mostly fun, and gave me the opportunity to live in our charming and exciting capital!

Last year, which was the last year of my studies, I was on exchange in Helsinki (Finland ) and Cape Town (South Africa). Since November 2018 I am living in Brussels again, working for a small film production company... but always on the lookout for new adventures.

PHILOSOPHY

Be broad minded! I love things to be organised in time so I don't have to stress too much, but without being spontaneous and doing crazy things life would just be too boring..

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

The best way to discover new places is by moving there and living. If you can't do that, the second best way is to experience it with people who do :)
I am always eager to meet new fascinating people, so what better way then to offer them a couch or share moments with them while staying on theirs.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Surfed in Graz, Salzburg and Edinburgh with friends, were great experiences, good hosts and nice places. In Edinburgh we were hosted over Christmas. We had very little interaction with our host, but we had a good understanding from the start.
More trips planned!

Interests

I studied History at the university of Antwerp, went on erasmus to Vienna, Felsinki and Cape Town, lived in Berlin and Cologne, and am now working and living in Brussels. I enjoy going on the occasional city-trip, going for walks or cycle trips, playing football, being creative, drinking beer or cocktails and dancing, taking courses to learn about film, photography, languages... And I enjoy learning all about history and other old stuff...

Music, Movies, and Books

I love books, and movies (too many).. and music too of course, but don't ask me anything about my favourite band or so, because I just never remember the names.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I did voluntary work in Morocco a couple of years back. Only three weeks, but it was a wonderful experience!

Teach, Learn, Share

Open for a lot. Giving, receiving and sharing. (Languages, recipes, stories...)

What I Can Share with Hosts

Silly historical facts, enthusiasm and interest for your country, culture, language, hobbies. Maybe just some nice drinks and good chats.

Countries I’ve Lived In

Austria, Belgium, Finland, Germany, South Africa
