Chi sono

CURRENT MISSION

Learning spanish for our next trip, saving up money to travel the world! (ok maybe not the world right now but I'm getting there) and trying to enjoy my life to the fullest.

ABOUT ME

I'm a happy and open-minded person. I love my family& friends and to hang out with them. I love to try out new things just as much as I love to see new places. Being active and spontaneous is a big part of my life, I just love to do stuff, being outside, hang, meet new people, get to know a different culture and different kinds of view. Laugh and have fun! Humor is very important to me, I love making jokes and having fun and silly conversations - life shouldn't be so serious :)

PHILOSOPHY

Do no harm but take no shit!
- Rachel Brathen

When I was 5 years old, my mother always told me that happiness was the key to life. When I went to school, they asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up. I wrote down ‘happy’. They told me I didn’t understand the assignment, and I told them they didn’t understand life.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

My brother and I went to San Diego in 2012 and stayed on Aaron's "couch" (a cabin on a houseboat; super cool). We had a great time and my brother even got a tattoo from him - a memory lasting forever :)
Just a few months ago my boyfriend and I couchsurfed in Luxembourg for three days; great guy and great experience! Fun going to the bars and meeting his friends and the next day he even visited us by the race. And recently in Port Huron, MI, for one night.

Unfortunately I haven't been able to host anyone yet in return. The last 2,5 years my apartment was super small and I had no extra room nor couch. I moved in to my boyfriend's apartment a few months ago and we have a spare couch in our room now. We love this area and hopefully share it with some of you one day!

I guess I'm still pretty new, but I loved the experiences I made so far and always recommend it to friends. It's the best way getting know new people, opinions, cultures, food, lifestyles, interests and so on - it broadens your mind like nothing else. You are able to share whatever moves you and interests you and just touch other lifes instead of just avoiding it.

Interessi

How do I spend my time? Well for the last three years I mainly studied but also worked part time, exerciesed, relaxed, hung with friends and my boyfriend, and was involved in some social projects. Living with five roommates was fun and helped me staying sane when I got home from college haha. Together with my boyfriend, I started loving cooking new recipes and making sushi (as a poor student you can't go out to eat all the time anymore and we just love to eat hahah). Now that I finished my bachelor thesis I want to use my free time to make some money but also learn spanish so I have some skills when we are going to be in latin america in December.
I always used to dance or other sport activities, but working out became a way bigger part of my life in the last couple years. My first run was in 2012, the 8k shamrock shuffle in Chicago. Also I really enjoy doing zumba, pilates and yoga.
Im so happy about my opportunities to see so many great place around the world. During my time as an au pair in Chicago, IL I was very fortunated to be able to see so many places in the US. I loved Miami and even Disney World was so much fun with the kids. Niagara falls were great (and super coooold) but nothing compared to the Grand Canyon - just breathtaking. Chicago is an awesome city and I loved living there! Back in Germany I moved from the very north of Germany to the very south to study and was able to get to know so many little differences even within Germany.
But especially meeting so many great new people is what I like most of my whole experience. I mean when I came to the US I pretty much didnt know anyone except my host family, same when I moved to Freiburg to study there and now my life is full of amazing people :)
