Overview
About Me
I’m a laid back yet passionate person - I’m pretty easy going but I am like a fireball with passionate subject. I was born and raised in Calgary to two generous Lebanese parents who taught me so much about the world. I was always fascinated by my dad’s experience of his travels and places he’s lived; I hung on to every word of his descriptions. I’m both a home body and a wanderer, and I definitely have dreams of traveling the world. I enjoy cooking and baking (I’m better at the first than the latter). I love listening to music and dancing like a fool. I enjoy seeing smiles on people’s faces and learning about their journeys in life.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I joined Couchsurfing a few years back and had the pleasure of hosting some folks who taught me so much! I unfortunately fell into some health issues and lost access to my account. Now that I’m back on my feet, I’m excited to hop back into the community. I’m currently unable to host given my housing circumstances, but am looking forward to events/connections/traveling again! I welcome anyone who is coming to Calgary to reach out and hear about some hidden gems and cool places to visit!

Music, Movies, and Books
My genre of music is quite expansive - I love music that is expressive and emotional, and also music that has an awesome beat to dance to.
I don’t often watch movies or TV, but I do love a feel good movie. Three of my all time favourites are Remember the Titans, A Walk to Remember, and Cry Freedom. I am currently watching a Turkish drama called Yemin. I’m Sorry I Love You is one of my favourite Korean Dramas.
I used to read a lot more than I find myself reading these days. When I was a kid, I would get so lost in books. “The Five Agreements” and “Go Giver” are core books I live by. I love reading poetry, I have all of Rupi Kaur’s books.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
As cheesy as it may sound, I would say one amazing thing I’ve done is diving deep into who I am and understanding myself more. I’ve done a lot of soul searching into my values, passions and goals in life and I lead a life I’m proud of today. I’ve been able to separate my value from my achievements and recognize the beauty in the small moments in life. A close second is donating bone marrow in 2016 to a stranger.
Teach, Learn, Share
I am happy to discuss my life experiences openly if they’ll help people! I studied business and am working on getting a masters in social work. I’m an empathetic person and very much am fascinated by human behaviour. Being a child of two immigrants has given me a different perspective to life in Canada. I love learning about people struggles and how they overcame it, about people’s cultures, and having controversial conversations with an open mind.
What I Can Share with Hosts
Compassion, intrigue, conversation, experience, food!
I like to meet hosts where they’re at: I’m happy to connect and explore, and also happy to respect each other’s space! I’m appreciative of this community and grateful for the connections I’ve gotten from it.
