About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Je ne cherche pas, je trouve!

ABOUT ME

What you see is what you get. I'm a very sensitive girl. I always try to be as honest as possible because I believe honesty is the best policy.

I keep my word. So if I promise something I will do it. Don't like people who don't.

I hug and kiss my friends all the time. This is my way of showing them I care. I suppose everybody loves hugs.

I'm very optimistic and try to look at the positive side of things.

I don't make many plans for the future. I live day by day. My goal is to make each day as beautiful as possible.

All my friends come to me if they have got problems because I am a very good listener and they know they can trust me.

In the beginning when I meet someone that I don't know I'm usually nerveous but after a little while this goes away.

I have a big heart. If I can help some-one I will. One can make a difference by doing little things every day such as give your seat on the bus to an old lady/man, help to carry havy bags on the stairs,...

I like to take care of the peole I love. It is important to me that they feel at home at my apartment and that they have a great time.

PHILOSOPHY

Je ne cherche pas, je trouve..
Smile!!!
Look at what you have rather then at what you don't have.
Little things make big days.
Real happiness is happiness shared.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Whenever I can I host people from all over the world. I also take part in the CS-events that interest me.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Marcel Vargas and Veronica from Madrid have visited me for 1 night (5-6 March 2012). Because I had to work on Monday they walked around the town on their own and in the evening we stayed in my apartment. They tasted some Belgian beer and a typical flemish dish. We talked about so many things. It was really fun.

Ilja Barsanti from Florence, Italy visited me for 2 nights (27-29 January 2012). The first night he cooked for us. Amazing pasta! The second day we walked around the city and we saw the Mystic Lamb by the brothers Van Eyck. That night he cooked again. And again it was simply to lick your fingers! We laughed and talked a lot. I really enjoyed his company. Hope to see him again in the near future and couchsurf in his house in Firenze. Grazie Ilja. Ciao.

Sabrina from Cologne, Germany visited me (1 October 2011) for 1 night. We walked in the city. Had turkish dinner outside. Afterwards we went to a bar. We talked and laughed a lot.

Katharina from Vienna, Austria visited me for 4 days (July 2011). Luckily I didn't had to work. Because of the Gentse Feesten the university was closed. We did so many things: we went to the Gentse Feesten, we went to a burlesque show, to the cinema, we went to some markets, we made a boattrip,.. It was so much fun!

Zuriël from Zwolle, Holland visited me for 1 night. We went to have some drinks in a cosy bar and talked until the morning. Such a sweetheart!

Obi from Minnesota, U.S.A. visited me for one weekend (4-5 September 2010). We had a great time!! I showed him the city. He tried different beers, a Flemish dish, .. He also told me a lot about his country and city. In the evening we went to a jazz festival.
It was a perfect experience and I'm happy that Obi was my first couch surfing guest. Hopefully we will see each other again some day.

Interests

I'm obsessed with childeren. I have been all of my life. I haven't had the opportunity yet to be a mother but luckily I have my sisters' childeren and I'm aunty Nina to all my friends' childeren :-)

I adore the movies. When I'm tired I like to curl up on my sofa with a warm blanket and watch a movie.

Like everybody else on this website I love to travel. I'm lucky that I go abroad 3 times a year for work. Besides this I try to save all my vacation days and backpack for one month.

I love to laugh. A day without laughing for me is a lost day. Luckily I laugh very easily and almost all the time.

For the rest: read books, listen to music, eat, drink wine,... All the good things in life.
