ABOUT ME

I'm a girl, 21 years, Danish, grew up in the country, when I first moved away from home I moved 9 months to Berlin, Germany, to work as a volunteer - made me love that city! went back to Denmark for a couple of months to earn some money to go to the states! Then I went to New York for 2,5 months - all the nice CS people i met there showed me the real New York and made me love that city too!!! And now I have 8 months of doing wathever I want till I'll start university in September.

PHILOSOPHY

Smile - it's worth it!
Life is beautiful - but not always easy of course..

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I use CS to meet people, it is a great way to get nice new people to know, and to get in touch with other cultures than your own. Till now I haven't hosted, but as soon I get the posibility I will...

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

As I lived in Berlin me and a friend thought it would be fun to see a bit more of Germany so we went to Hamburg for a cuple of days. what we didn't realized before we arrived was that the same day was a marathon in the city - every hostel and hotel was booked up. So we had nowhere to sleep. After some thinking I remenbered CS (had heard about if from some friends) and we went into a internet cafe, made a profile, and asked several people if we could sleep at their place the same night. we had no pictuers or anything and it was like 6 o'clock in the evening. luckily at 8 o'clock some nice CS people called us - we could stay with them.
That's how and why I joined; it was actually mostly a coincidence that we happened to couchsurf back then, but I am SO glad it happend!
After that I had for a couple of months no need for a couch, so I didn't use it till I came to New York City and felt lonely... And here the great CS-community warmly welcomed me and made me love their city, them and CouchSurfing... As I lived a bit outside NYC I also couchsurfed a couple of days, but mostly I went to all their meetings and parties and all the other stuff there always are going on there... I really got to know some nice people - the NYC CS-community is great!

Interests

I like to party. I like to be with friends. I like to laugh. To dance. To drink tea with milk.
To try new things and see new places.
To run. To read books. To sit in the kitchen a late night talking to my mom about our lives.
To sleep. To eat. To smile.
I like to run out in the cold, cold Danish sea to go swimming - feeling like a Viking ;)
I like when I don't fall of the board when I try to windsurf and when I don't fall trying to ski.
I love the nature. To play in the snow. To feel the sun warm up my skin. To walk under an umbrella in the rain. I love my family and my friends. I love to learn new things, and to meet nice people.
I'm interestet in enjoying life, and stuff like that ;)

Music, Movies, and Books

Movies: "Lord of the Rings", many funny Danish movies, "Band of Brothers", "Pirates of the Caribbean" and many old Disney cartoons... It really depend on my mood sometime feel-good love stories, sometimes war movies, fantasy movies, fun movies, cartoons - actually all kind of movies - except horror -I get too scared...
Music: Again, I'm a quite "all around" person. Often I mostly listen to either what my brother presents for me or what is up at the moment – or old music like Elvis… Okay, it is hard to explain what kind of music I like, what I don’t listen much to is heavy rock and hip hop… I also love to listen to music in Danish and German like TV2, Die Prinzen and Die Ärtze...
Books: I love to read!!!! Don't always do it a lot, but when I have a good book I love it. Some of my favourite books are "Godfather", "Harry Potter", "The Count of Monte Cristo", "To Kill a Mockingbird"... Lots of other books too...

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

This is a hard quistion. To point one thing out... As I never done anything totally exceptional, I don't think I can tell you what the moste amazing thing I've done in my live is... One thing I find very amazing though was when I as 7years old went tracking whit my family in the mountain in Norway. A week, only us five, a tent and the supplies we could carry on our backs. And the great nature of course! Such a great trip!
