ABOUT ME

Hi! We are a couple (David & Ed) who live in the North Pennines AONB (Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty).

It is a great place to live but there is not much there i.e. no shop, no pub, pretty much nothing! But that is why we like it.

The area is great for hiking/walking and cycling. We are about half an hour’s drive from Hexham and an hour from the Lake District and Newcastle (in opposite directions).

We both work for Northumberland National Park and love the outdoors and wildlife. We spend a lot of our spare time in the Lake District either walking or canoeing.

We have a spare room with bunk beds. As mentioned earlier there is not a lot going on in our valley but it is great if you just want to walk, read or paint/draw. Most nights are spent sat in front of the log burning stove with a bottle of wine!

There is a Buddhist Abbey close to the house for those who are interested, they practice Zen Buddhism there.

Anything you want to know, just ask.

PHILOSOPHY

I try hard to follow Buddhist principles (although I am not a practicing Buddhist) as they seem to make a lot of sense.
