About Me
CURRENT MISSION
share stories with people while sleeping on their couches
ABOUT ME
I have a big heart, and while I drink beer, Erdbeer in German means strawberry.
friendly, non-judgemental, think nearly all people are nice(some call that naive), a bit dopey at times but a good mix between a clean freak and a total mess, optimisitc, good mooded, chirpy (someone said that this week), well-mannered mostly I hope, but also relaxed. I sneeze a lot in June.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I have so far not participate in couch surfing in the strict sense, however, partly because our couch has been occupied most of the time. Everywhere I lived we (my family and housemates) have always hosted people, strangers and friends, welcomed them warmly and many felt at home with us.
Interests
I should probably say travelling here first, and I wouldn't lie by saying that
On a day to day basis: I like being outside, I like to run, to read to ramble on about things.
Life would be quite soulless without music I think, so that is important to me.
I find it quite easy to make friends and I like having them, too. I am a very social person. I do not absolutely love clubs, even though depending who I go with and what club it is, a fun night can be had. but I love a good night out in the pub, a little dance, a big beer, a glass of wine, etc.
I quite like cooking. I am doing a Masters at the moment, in transcultural psychology, and that also graps my attention.
Cultural differences, and similarities, and well simply people those things facinate me the most.

Music, Movies, and Books
My music taste is quite-yet-not-only folksy oriented: Bob Dylan, Neil Young, Joni Mitchell, Leonard Cohen, the Band, the Beatles, Tom Waits, Joanna Newsom, the Shins, Sufjan Stevens, Regina Spector, Cat Power, Devendra Banhart, the Magnetic Fields, ...
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Each time I come to the sea side I feel struck by the sense of endless freedom,
Each time the mountains come up in front of me I am in awe and wonder how massive they are, even though they make me feel caught.
These are more ordinary things.
Single moments:
when driving around the Ireland we had many awestruck moments. but we thought the most beautiful place to be quite near where all lived, in West Cork. Quaint, peaceful, deserted, beautiful
Coming to the seaside in West Bengal for a weekend off after long and exhausting months a village not so far away from the seaside. Infrastructure varies and what is a short distance for us is not a short distance in other areas.
And a recent one: the view of London from Primrose Hill.
Teach, Learn, Share
Exchangin tales from distant (and also not so distant) lands I love to talk about and listen to. I have many, other people may have more. Knowledge about people from across the world is infinite. I would like to hear more. And I would love to pass on. Tips, tricks, warnings, and why people love places.
