About Me

ABOUT ME

As a uni student, I lived in different cities of France (Caen, Strasbourg, Montpelier) and even in Ireland for one year, as an Erasmus student. I also lived 10 months in New Zealand where I did a internship as part of my master's degree. Then I moved to Perth, Australia, where I worked as an environmental scientist for 4 years. Last year, I decided to change of scenery (and weather !). I packed all my stuff and bought a one-way ticket to Canada. I now live and work in Vancouver. Love this city and British Columbia ! I believe it's the best place I've lived so far.

One may see me as a quiet person at first sight but when you get to know me, I am open-minded, cheerful, curious and always see the good side of things. I want to explore other countries, discover different cultures and learn from them. I consider myself as a "listener" more than a "speaker" but I enjoy sharing travel stories and cooking recipes or having meaningful conversation with other people.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I have experienced Couchsurfing in Sweden, Germany, Spain and New Zeland. I also hosted couchsurfers when I was working in a small town in the Loire Valley and in Paris. Always had great experiences and met wonderful people, some even became friends that I met again in other circonstances.

When I travel I like to meet locals who know best about their city, traditions, history, food ... The best way to really discover a country or a city.

Interests

I love cooking ! My favorite discussion topics are food and travels :D

But I also like (in no particular order): sciences, history, hiking, tea, outdoors, books, movies, zumba, wine, forests, singing, mountains, cheese, music, wildlife, dancing, baking ...

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I spent 3 weeks hitchiking and couchsurfing with a friend in New Zealand. We met very different people, all very friendly. They welcomed us in their home to share a moment of their life. I did things I never imagined I would ever do : kiwi fruit picking, belly dancing performance, medieval combat (with a real sword !), maori ceremony ... Such a rewarding experience !

Teach, Learn, Share

I think language is essential to a community such as CS, so I will be happy to teach some french if you like. I'm also keen to learn other languages. I love cooking so I am happy to share recipes or even a meal.
