About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To travel and explore while I still can!

ABOUT ME

I have 2 cats and a sweet mutt, Lola. I love movies, music festivals, concerts, and anything involving nature. I'm working full-time as a Spanish teacher in a private Catholic high school in between degrees. I travel as much as possible, but school and family keep me pretty busy.

PHILOSOPHY

Live and let live.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

For guests: My house is nothing fancy, but you're welcome to sleep on the living-room futon :) I have 3 pets, so hopefully you're not allergic to cats or dogs (all are short-haired, if that makes a difference).
My neighborhood is about 15 minutes away from anywhere in the city, so it's a good jumping off point. Also Lake Hefner is nearby.

For hosts: Mostly just looking for someone to hang out with in a new city, getting to know where to eat & what to do. I'm primarily interested in seeing what local life is like, and I'm always up for museums and cultural events. On the weekends I do like to go out, when possible.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have never couchsurfed, but I look forward to it!

Interests

I love reading, writing, watching movies, and visiting museums and cultural sights. In my hometown, I go to concerts and open-mic nights as often as possible. I also especially love hiking, running, camping, and going to the beach.

Music, Movies, and Books

Books by Dickens, Melville, Roberto Bolaño, Joan Didion.
Favorite movies: La Haine, Blade Runner, Annie Hall, The Darjeeling Limited, A Serious Man.
Music: All kinds! Recently LCD Soundsystem, Florence and the Machine, Radiohead, St. Vincent, Vincent Staples, Kendrick Lamar, Modest Mouse, The Killers, M83, Banks, Ray LaMontagne, Beirut, but anything really.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Climbing the pyramids in Teotihuacan was the most surreal experience in my life. Being in the ceremonial site of the Aztecs, after studying mexica culture and history for years, was a dream come true.
