About Me

CURRENT MISSION

meet more new people and stay in touch with them

ABOUT ME

We lived in Tokyo more than 15 years but moved to Kobe in April 2011. Our new apartment is close to the bay area in the city, where is called Harborland. You can rent a bike near here, too.

When I see someone from overseas through this site, I usually involve my husband also. He doesn't speak English very well, but he is a nice, comfortable guy, at least:)
We are very interested in international friendship.

**important**
When you send your first message to me, please be sure you start with "Hello Mizue,I read your profile."
Also, please be sure in advance that I'm not offering a room to sleep in my apartment.

I do not reply to the boring copy&paste messages asking for a space to sleep :p

PHILOSOPHY

Life is just a stop-over in our long journey.
It seems you have plenty of time yet, but in fact it is very short and actually very, very limited.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I happened to find an ad on internet.
Thought it would be interesting, so I tried.
And YES, it IS interesting: )

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Until I happen to know this site, I simply looked for someone through international penpal community before I visit a foreign country.
I was successful this way in South Korea, Holland, and in India. I had to be very much careful judging whether he or she is a nice and honest though.
In Kolkata,India, I met a university student. She invited us (me, husband and some of our friends I was traveling with)to her home.
It was Sunday, so all her family members including their grandparents welcomed us.
She prepared festive Indian lunch for us, which we enjoyed a lot.
After that she showed us around the crowded Kolkata city. It was especially nice that we could experience their local buses and even boat(to cross the river with bicycles).

In Holland, I also visited someone who I met through internet. He and his wife are both very friendly and we already met three times by now. It was especially interesting when we shared their kitchen and they cooked dinner for us and I cooked some Japanese curry for them.
