Overview
About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Adventure. I want to experience everything right now, I'm at a stage in my life where I'm thirsty for exploration and expanding my limits.
ABOUT ME
In short: I'm a sun child.
I've lived all over the place, grew up in three different continents, always a stranger at home - and therefore exotic! Currently I am working toward a PhD in Chemistry, and it's been a wonderful journey that's taught me a lot about solar power but more significantly myself and the people around me.
I love to laugh and have fun, I'm very curious and generally up for anything. I love spontaneous adventures, especially when I can share them with someone. I appreciate hearing others' stories and perspectives, and very happy to share whatever I can from myself.
PHILOSOPHY
The world is what you make of it. It's really a beautiful world.
.. Was that cliche enough? But I really do think like that.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I come on and off the site every few months, but I have not yet had the chance to experience CS fully. I have been in transitory stages in my life- always a student, and rarely in places with a lot of CS. Soon, though, when I move to Europe and am done with my PhD, I'll finally be able to host!
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Love it! I've surfed 2 couches now, and I am eager for more!
Interests
Adventure and new experiences. Laughter and silliness. Good people with good conversation. Understanding how things work around us. Live jazz with a glass of wine. Dancing! (any kind, but especially swing and salsa). Yoga, mindfulness (yoga is not just stretching...). Coffee shops and good books. Good food, healthy food.

Music, Movies, and Books
Music: Bonobo, Parov Stelar, Shlohmo, Idan Raichel, Caravan Palace, Sia, Kurt Elling, Dash Berlin, HaDag Nachash, Robbie Williams, Alejandro Sanz, Jarabe de Palo, Eric Clapton, Tom Waits, Ray Charles, etc..
Books: On Being Wrong, Thinking Fast and Slow, When Things Fall Apart. These have been my favorite books for the last few years.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Saw the Toure-Raichel Collective in a small, tucked away venue in LA, California on their opening tour. We could see the wrinkles on their faces while they played. Amazing.
Concert in the dessert. It's one of the most engulfing experiences I have ever gone through: the loud music consumes you and there is nothing else around, the sand winds surround you and you're in a different world. It's surreal. It's fantastic, to the fullest definition of the word.
I've broken into an archaeological site with my best friend a few days after her wedding, and had the place to ourselves in the middle of the dessert.
Teach, Learn, Share
The best teacher is right now, between us.
Sharing of lives and worlds is what this is all about.
(I am a great indulger of good music and good food! )
A topic I find amazingly interesting is behavioral economics- I'm full of examples of how irrational we are, as a species, even the most scientifically driven among us!
I can teach you how to dance salsa and bachata. I can teach you about solar energy. I would enjoy sharing good music with you. I have a few jokes up my sleeve.
What I Can Share with Hosts
If you like trying new foods, and allow me to use your kitchen, I'd love to make some traditional food for you!
