ABOUT ME

I am a very spontaneous and adventurous person, unfortunately I don't really have the means to travel at this time. I really want to go and see more places outside the United States. I'm a very curious person and I love meeting new people! I love showing them around wherever I happen to be living (twin cities, Minnesota right now!), as well as having them show me around where they're from. I am great at finding deals, cooking, and finding my way around new places. I'm married to a pretty cool guy from Iowa. :) We also have 1 pretty cool roommate, 2 puppies, and a cat.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I've hosted several travelers... Unfortunately I haven't had the funds or time to travel, but I'm always hopeful I will do more of this someday! We have stayed with a couple people here and there.

Interessi

Art (in all it's forms), museums, libraries, music (I go to a lot of local shows), being outside, bubble tea, food (of all sorts), movies, cosplay, cooking, dancing, reading, cafes, etc.

Musica, film e libri

Movies: Amelie, the Science of Sleep, kiss kiss bang bang, despicable me, my neighbor totoro, bad boys 2, Everything is Illuminated, Stranger than Fiction, etc.
My favorite directors are Quentin Tarantino, Wes Anderson, the Coen brothers, etc.
Books: How Evan Broke His Head, Penrod, It's All Downhill from Here, the Catcher in the Rye, of two minds, Harry Potter, Pecked to Death by Ducks, Stiff, etc.
Music: Indie rock, ie the Current (89.3) in the Twin Cities. Sims, The Decemberists, eisley, Sufjan Stevens, doomtree, Cloud Cult, anything jack white touches, etc. We have a lot of great local music here also.

I've seen and done a lot of interesting and random things. I've seen a shuttle launch from Nasa, gysers in the badlands and Old Faithful, gone camping and canoeing in all sorts of places around the United States, enjoyed the quiet of Gettysburg, admired the pearly whiteness that is our nation's capital, experienced the Caribbean via cruise ship, participated in cultural festivals in small towns in Mexico, etc.

I have a pretty good understanding of where things are, anywhere I've been, so even if you just wanted directions somewhere, I would totally help you out. Especially in the Twin Cities (Minnesota), Sioux Falls, Chicago, or lots of other places in the midwest.
I'm good at finding random things to do at any time of day and can usually find awesome cheap places to eat and do things, as well as bargains on clothes, etc. I love to thrift. I also love to cook. My father is a chef and restauranteur, so I learned a thing or two. ;-)
I can speak Spanish okay. I would love to learn some more languages though! I only know how to say a couple of things in French, German, Amharic, etc. but I want to learn more. I would also love to just go and be random places and participate in life there. I love to immerse myself in culture.

Our household is pretty chill and welcoming. We all love to meet new people and share our experiences. I love to show people around town. I think Minnesota has a lot to offer.
