About Me
Hey everyone! Wow it's been a while since I've been on here - totally didn't expect a pandemic to change the world so much. Anyway, after taking all my vaccine doses I'm slowly regaining the confidence to travel again (with precautions), on a new continent this time! Hello North America!
Here's some stuff if you'd like to get to know me:
I enjoy listening to and exchanging stories and experiences as much as I enjoy being left to myself every now and then. I'm not a huge fan of very loud late-night places (i.e., clubbing), but hey, I'll try anything twice.
I'm a vegetarian that falters occasionally out of curiosity. I'm not too big on social media and I can't take a picture to save my life, but if you want to explore a place entirely on foot, possibly without using your phone, I'm your girl.
Also, I love last-minute plans. There's nothing as energizing as an impulsive decision to go somewhere.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I think exchanging stories with people is one of the most fascinating and interesting experiences that life has to offer. I think I miss out on some of those stories because of my occasional hesitancy to approach people I don't know. I'm here because I'd like to change that.
Most importantly, I think you can learn and share a lot more from staying and adapting with a local than from just interacting with people in a public place.

The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society, The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time, Minor Feelings. And many, many more obviously - this is an old list and desperately needs updating, but I still love the ones on here.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Along with a friend, I decided to (completely impulsively) ride 600 km on my 125cc scooter from Bangalore to Hyderabad in India. We were on the road for about 15 hours continuously, including breaks for the engines to cool. We rode through green hillsides, ridiculously barren landscapes with not a single tree in sight and across one of the biggest rivers in India. My favourite part was probably riding through rice fields under a pink evening sky with the sunset on our rearview mirrors.
We stayed in Hyderabad for a day and rode the 600 km back on the third day in under 12 hours. I definitely won't forget the feeling as long as I'm alive.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can show you how to make a basic vegetarian Indian meal that you can add your own variations to. I'm fairly certain I can teach you at least 50 words in 4 Indian languages. If you plan to travel to India anytime, I can give you ideas and opinions. I can teach you basic hula hooping, and I might make you a cross-stitch if I have the time (it's my new coping mechanism lol - thank you grad school).
I'd like to learn at least a few words and phrases of whatever language you speak. If you like any kind of science or history and want to share facts that you know or random theories that you've come up with, I'm all ears. I learnt how to swim recently and I'm eager to learn new techniques and improve the ones I already know. I'm also up for trying any new activity or learning a new craft.
What I Can Share with Hosts
Good conversation and honest opinions! I'd be more than willing to be your hiking and/or walking partner while I'm there. I can also cook decent vegetarian (and Indian, if you'd like) food and I keep my place clean. I can tell you a lot about my solo travel experiences in India and Europe, and if you come to Edmonton for a few days, we could explore different neighbourhoods together. Oh, and if you'd like me to get you something in particular from here when I visit, I can do that too.
