Overview
About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Never lose sight of the important things.
ABOUT ME
I'm an optimistic and generally calm person with a wide range of interests and hobbies and a love of sharing and debating ideas.
I am both critical, willing to search for the intent and purpose of everything, approaching the world in a logical way and a fun-loving childlike person who loves acting crazy.
I regard myself as really inexperienced when it comes to relationships - I hope to learn from the world and become a wiser person.
PHILOSOPHY
Live and let live.
Never settle for less than the best. Make use of the skills you have, perfect them and become great.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I've surfed and attended CS meetings in Cardiff and surfed in London. It's a great experience and I hope to host as soon as I catch up with everything back home.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Really positive so far. The best way to learn!
Interests
The Middle Ages (living history, experimental archaeology), but am also interested in visual arts (I draw and adore illustrations), music (both listening to and producing), handy-craft, literature, psychology, fencing, hiking, and various languages (French, Finnish, Icelandic, Welsh, Old Norse and Old English).

Music, Movies, and Books
I enjoy listening to world music, soundtracks, indie, and some really popular bands.
My favourite author is Robert Holdstock, but I also love the works of Kurt Vonnegut, Terry Pratchett, Neil Gaiman, Diana Wynne-Jones, Susanna Clarke, J.R.R. Tolkien, Isaac Asimov and P. Howard.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I'm amazed every time I go to the mountains of Transylvania - the vast pine forests and the rivers and the rocks have left me speechless many times.
Another thing I would mention is taking part in the organisation of the International Children's Festival in Hungary -I did it for several years, having kids from Hungary, Romania and Slovakia and crying with the 80-100 volunteers and 3-400 kids at the festival's end is just priceless.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach people to draw and do handy-craft and I can share my knowledge of Art History. I would also be happy to show the world some Transylvanian recipes.
I have taken linguistic classes, so would love to meet other linguists and share our knowledge.
I would love to meet Archaeologists and take part in excavations, although what I studied and hopefully will study again isn't necessarily Archaeology - it is closely related. I am really interested in conservation and restoration as well.
I would love to learn Icelandic, Finnish, Swedish, Danish, Welsh and French, new handy-craft techniques (woodworking is my new dream), recipes.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I can cook! And I love to. Washing the dishes - not so much, but it's more exciting to do them at someone else's house.
I am also really into all kinds of crafting, so if there is some kind of project you're working on, I would be more than happy to help.
