Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I've been kind of on my own journey lately to get to know myself again. Among other things, I realized that over the years I had constructed a kind of facade. I unconsciously always tried to keep this facade. But that made it difficult for me to truly open up to someone. My biggest battle in life has had been with myself. But life can be so beautiful and free when you show who you really are;)
I'm on couchsurfing because I really want to meet individuals to truly get to know them))

Music, Movies, and Books
As an art photographer I'm obviously into photography and art. Some artists that influenced me a lot were Nan Goldin, Saul Leiter, Zdzisław Beksiński, Claude Monet, Daidō Moriyama and many more.
When it comes to music it highly depends on my mood. Right now I'm really into Jiro Inagaki.
Some artists that I always listen to are Red hot chili peppers, Jimi Hendrix, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Tom Misch and Brothertiger(High Tide).
I like to read a lot and I‘m mostly interested in german literature like Hermann Hesse, Bernard Schlink. But right now I started reading Charles Bukowski, which I like a lot so far.
I'm also a sucker for Martin Scorsese and Wong Kar Wai movies. If you don't know Wong Kar Wai, I'd hiiiighly recommend his movie The Chungking Express, thank me later;)
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Recently, when I was in Copenhagen, my friend and I wanted to get a tattoo. I found a tattoo shop called Barking Iron. There I saw a flash of a profile of a sad woman with black hair and a wing as a body in a traditional American style. But I didn't find the right meaning for the tattoo. All of my other tattoos had a meaning. But I figured that at some point I would understand the meaning of my tattoo. The next day, when my tattoo was healing, I sat in front of my hotel to smoke a cigarette and read. A pretty young woman was sitting alone at the other table. She had black hair and very slightly tanned skin. I had seen her a couple of times and she was always alone. She seemed lonely to me. We smiled at each other and she finally came over to me. We talked about many things, including deep things. She was half Danish, half Afghan. Finally, the topic of tattoos came up. I showed her my different tattoos and their meanings. When I showed her the woman, I explained to her that I will understand the meaning of this tattoo at some point. Then she said in a critical voice: Who gets a tattoo without meaning!? I had to laugh. She showed me her tattoos. She had an anchor on her shoulder and little seagulls on her ribs. The seagulls meant that she could fly, that she would see the world. And the anchor always kept her where her home is. I thought that was a nice meaning. But when we talked further, she told me that she was unhappily married because her husband prevented her from traveling, that she only works and therefore has no time to do what she wants. I asked her why she lived this way if it made her unhappy. After a long pause, she told me she didn't know. She was the sad woman with black hair whose wings were trapped.
