About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To fill every moment with memories worth remembering.
ABOUT ME
I lived in Germany for three years while doing Masters in applied Mathematics, and have been in the US for five years - did another Master's degree in Engineering Management at the Johns Hopkins University, and have been working as an economic consultant for the last seven years.
I love interacting with people from all spheres of life as I think that interaction provides for a rich life experience in addition to my academic work! I love good food and some of my favorite conversations revolve around exchanging recipes. I am a prolific reader, and recently learned to ride a bicycle. It is not as easy when one is old. :(
PHILOSOPHY
The key to a happy life is an open mind.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
My first few experiences were with my mother, who's hosted CSers on a regular basis. I've couchsurfed in many countries and attend CS events on a non-regular basis. :) Interesting conversations and exchange of authentic recipes is what I love about this forum!
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Well, I've had a number of interesting experiences. Our first CSer was an extremely warm and vivacious lady which greatly heightened my interest in CSing. Recently, one of our CSers taught me an excellent way of making roast chicken wrapped in bacon(a complete non veggie delight!), which has been a hit with family and friends alike! I've CSed with lots of people over the last 2 years and have wonderful memories and made good friends!
One of my best CS experiences: I went to Krakow for 4 days and stayed for two nights with a lady who was our (my mother and I) first CSer in 2010 in India! Moreover, I stayed the other two nights with two friends whom I met in Paris two years ago when we couchsurfed simultaneously with our Paris host. Krakow was a trip of memories new and old!

Music, Movies, and Books
I love reading. Nevil Shute, Graham Green, Gabriel Garcia Marquez, Gerald Durrell, James Herriot contribute to some of my favorite books! Besides reading, I'm also a student of pottery. I'm fond of listening to music of various genres. I feel that anything that strikes a chord in your heart is music.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Camping on top of a mountain in tents and shivering in the cold at night, all for a 360 degree view of snow capped mountains and visibility of 5 states of India from that vantage point!
White water rafting on the Ganges in Rishikesh and camping in tents with friends.
Teach, Learn, Share
I'm game for teaching anything that I can capably share and vice versa!
