ABOUT ME

I am 31 years old, I was born in Newark, New Jersey but I moved out of there when I was 4 years old. I was raised in Orlando, Florida, United States my entire life until I turned 18 when I moved and explored the world on my own. I have lived in San Diego, Spain for 3 years and Washington state. I am currently living in Suffolk, Virginia. I'm very ambitious, strong hearted, friendly, kind and laid back (at least what I have been told haha). I believe that everything happens for a reason whether it is something good or bad. But, most of all to be content with the things that you have in life. Big or small, little or a lot.

PHILOSOPHY

I've learned by now to be quite content with whatever my circumstances are. I'm just as happy with the little as I am with much, with much as I am with little. I've found the recipe for being happy whether I am full or hungry, with my hands full or my hands empty. Whatever I have, wherever I am, I can make it through anything in the one who makes me who I am.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have met a lot of awesome people on couchsurfing for memories to be imprinted in my head for the rest of my life. I didn't host until I moved into Spain. I even used couchsurfing for the first time during my travels in Italy and met great people. I have traveled to many parts in Europe and Asia whether is to surf into someones home or to meet people during the Couchsurfing meetings.

I have learned from many people about their backgrounds, learning about their countries, cultural ideas and building friendships. It's a good community to learn and always be hungry to observe the world around you.

Interests

I'm very adventurous. I like to skydive, hiking, camping, bungee jumping and experiencing different things. I am very open minded.

I really love having bon fires

I am not a typical American when I travel. I don't settle for McDonalds and/or Burger King. When I travel to different countries and try out many different foods that locals eat. I think I just love food in general so I try anything. I'll even eat the "weird" stuff that most Westerners don't typically eat.

I speak 3 languages (Spanish, English and studying Japanese) and I want to learn as many languages as I can. I think learning different languages is interesting and I find it as a challenge when I try to learn.

Music is a part of my life. I am very open with many different kinds of music. Most of all I have a passion for heavy metal music.

With that being said I love going to metal concerts. I've been to so many metal shows that I've lost count.

I also love to sing. I do a lot of karaoke. It's so much more fun.

Growing up and raised in Orlando, Florida. I have always loved Disney. Anything that is Disney related (films, Disneyland parks, musicals, etc.) I truly love. I sometimes feel like a kid again when I am watching a Disney movie or going to Disney World.

I am an avid currency collector. I collect banknotes (not coins) from each country I visit and I have quite a collection of many different countries.

I love to watch football and basketball games. I have been to football games and I love the atmosphere. My favorite Spanish team is Barcelona and my favorite international team is the United States (of course because I am an American) even though we are not that good. My favorite NBA team are the Orlando Magic and I have been to many Orlando Magic games whenever I have the chance to go back home.

I am a big time metalhead. I love heavy metal and many different genres of metal (thrash, black, death, melodic, viking, white, gothic and etc.) But, I also listen to other types of music as well.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I think the biggest accomplishments on my traveling side are:

Visiting 36 countries and 25 states

I went to Haiti the day after the 2010 earthquake to help the aid of the Haitians to provide food, water and medical attention for one month.

I've done my very first skydiving in Hawaii.

I have been to almost every single Disney park in the world and I have collect my ticket from each one. I have been to Disney World (Florida), Disneyland (California), Hong Kong Disneyland, Tokyo Disneyland and Disneyland Paris.
All that is left is Shanghai Disneyland.

I have climbed on top of Mt. Fuji in Japan at night and saw the sunrise at the summit. After all Japan is the "Land of the Rising Sun". So, it was epic to see the sun rise on top of the tallest mountain in Japan. I also placed the El Salvador flag inside one of the huts at the summit.

I went to the Wacken Open Air festival in Germany three times (2014, 2015 and 2019).
The biggest heavy metal open air festival in the world.

I got to see the DMZ (demilitarize zone) border of North and South Korea. And went to the North Korean side in the meeting building.
