About Me

Hey.
My name is Niv, 31 years old , living with my partner in Tel Aviv.
During most of the time, I work as a software developer.
At my free time I like constructing art projects, that usually include electronics and wood.
Other than that I've recently acquired my Sailor license, so that's my new hobby!

Besides all that, i'm a big fan of culture of all sorts - live performances, exhibitions, live music, nightclubbing...

I am a very friendly and open person, I love meeting new people and talking about life!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

CS taught me that opening your home and heart is a wonderful thing, and it enables you to meet unusual people and have amazing experiences.

I live my life in a very people-friendly philosophy, and I think CS has a lot to do with it.

Music, Movies, and Books

I grew up on classical rock as a teenager,
moved on to crazy electronic parties later on,
spent some valuable time in classical music concerts.
In the past few days I've been listening a lot to Mac Miller, Tyler the Creator and Lianne lahavas.

Even though I worked as a book translator (English to Hebrew), i'm not much of a book worm.

I usually fall asleep watching movies, but series is a whole new world... And it is 100% clear, without a doubt, that The Wire is the best TV series ever made.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've climbed mount Kilimanjaro.
One of the most unique hikes I've ever did.
You get to see forest, desert, snow and ice bergs all in a matter of days.
Not to mention, meeting the most interesting people along the way.

I'll never forget those magical 6 days.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach basic dog training!
I can teach basic drumming!
I can teach coding!

I can learn anything! The more the merrier!

What I Can Share with Hosts

At least one cooked meal is guaranteed! I believe eating together with a person one of the best ways to connect.
Besides that, I love cooking and I'm always happy to show traditional Israeli cuisine. I believe this is one of the best ways to show gratitude.

Other than that, I love spending time with my hosts and guests, telling stories and listening to them.
I love telling people about Israel, as home, for its ugly parts but also the good ones.

I am fascinated by the fact that body language and oral nuances differ from one culture to the other.
This is something that can make people feel uneasy or uncomfortable, but for me it just lights the spark of connection and learning.
