About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To accept the deity within.

ABOUT ME

Poetry is the main force of life, next to the sun. Just a shame that nobody knows it any more.

and eating crisps on Sunday mornings and noons and not feeling guilty.

and having friends over for dinner and without wanting just spilling all your feelings, of better yet, having indigestion from Laughing, unintendidly. (and trying not to burp up beer foam)

and trying to (be)come to be yourself, more and more, and knowing what is in you and what not. Acceptance, and greeting the Buddha every time you pass him.

( I live with my best friends in a modest but very nice house. We have room for 2 people, for a couple of days. Weekends are most convenient, but let's just see how it goes, maybe even weekdays go... let's try it out eh!)

PHILOSOPHY

Everything already exists. It has just to be discovered, and to be uncovered in others perhaps.

Just accept yourself, the deity within you and share it with others through feeling. One should not always talk about one's spiritual life, one should live it.

Although, meeting each other and being able to share that and feel it through each other: hey, it's the most fantastic and intense encounter there is.

love.

(in the words of the master Leonard Cohen: it is in love we are made, in love we disappear.)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

We participate with a (double or single) bed.

In september '11 i'm moving with my boyfriend. So then things will change a little bit, but equally and evenly warmly welcome. (!)

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

we've had some people over now, and they have all been absolute good fun, deep conversations, nice nice nice... keep Coming.

I am a true adept to the CS Project, and starting to get addicted somehow. I was brought up in an open home and everyone I've ever lived with had the same idea: if someone passes by and it's late, give them a bed. CS is the logical next step.

Sharing a bed (or house) and talking over dinner, sharing food, drinking, inviting friends... I think this is the basis for exchange. Especially sharing food, eating together, it is symbolic and shows good intent. Someone cooks, someone eats it and both are happy, appreciated (of course I'll be the one cooking, hehe)...
CS is about exchange, not just sleeping over. Spread out the positivity all over, and it will come back to you.

peace and love.

Interests

music
theatre
dance (although i could go to the theatre a bit more)

I love a good beer and a glas of wine or a spirit from time to time. (Alcohol is sometimes my sole companion, usually we are three or more (that means that i drink with friends, not that i'm a drunk))

i like sand.

and poetry, at night

and being read to

(right: I read, I love going out, I cook a lot, for myself and friends, I have a dog, I like to go on one-or-more-day walking trips, poetry, politics, but only ideologically, music, theatre, concerts, everything from fado to americana (excluding most metal genres), needlepoint, knitting, aromatherapy, meditation, did I mention travelling?)

Music, Movies, and Books

nothing too commercial-
agatha christie - Salinger - Austen - Rushdie - Auster - Murakami
SARAMAGO- Plath -
hemmerechts- Jommeke- Kiekeboe
daisne- Woolf - Roy - Tartt -
Allende- Wang -
Irving- Roth- Agatha Christie (of course!) (she's my favourite, man)
others - lots, loads of others.

Music that i can listen to at all times, intimate with myself and headphones first. Give me jazz, ould soul, FLAMENCO, Samba and give me R'n'B, give me blues , intelligent pop music, filthy swamp rock en synths - give me electro, give me singers and singstresses, techno, goa ...
(Alela Diane, The Kills, The Killers, LEONARD COHEN, Janis Joplin, Joan Baez, Bob Dylan, Editors, Gnarls Barlkey, Madredeus, Estrella Morente, Pj Harvey, El Barrio, El Bicho, María Jimenez, Buika, (so lots of Flamenco), Jeff Buckley, Feist, Erykah Badu, Leela James, Nick Drake, M.I.A, Santogold, COCO Rosie, Dianne Reeves, Kurt Elling, Ella Fitzgerald, Bjork, Billie Holliday, Domenico Scarlati, Chopin, Shubert, Beethoven, Sara Vaughn, Kings Of Leon, ...)

just don't give heavy metal crap and new wave and dumbstruck children's songs.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

We saved a bird of prey one new years eve. That was very intense. She looked at us, and was it fear or understanding, she did not budge. She waited until she was liberated, then waited a few seconds and flew away. We like to think she even greeted us.

Learning to stand up for myself. Learning my body and my spirit (and those of others). To release yourself from all... and then having to do it again and again and again and so discovering who you truly are.

Learning to read and speak.

The sunset.

Hearing wise words from others and recognizing them in yourself.
