ABOUT ME
I started Couchsurfing 10 years ago and wrote some of the things below . I’m very happy and surprised to read it all again. As much as I’ve (thankfully) evolved the essence is still here.
I’ll try to make it short (I lied haha): I was born in Mexico but raised in Barcelona until I was 13 years old, then moved back to Mexico where I’ve lived most of my adult life. I’ve been living on and off in LA the past 2 years.
Moved out of my parents house at 18 by choice. I’m a very independent person. After 10 years trying to adult I’m now letting things be, embracing the joy of being alive and thankful for all that I’ve experienced.
I’ve travelled around Mexico, Spain, Canada, France, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Holland, Italy. I dream to go to Asia next.
Went to film school and have worked in TV and in Stop Motion Animation as an AD. Also worked in tech as a Project Manager, quit my job last year and now studying to become a healer through sound healing ceremonies and coaching non violent communication/authentic relating.
Love meditation, art, philosophy, neuroscience/psychology, yoga, acro yoga, slackline/highline, skating, longboard dancing, surfing, snowboarding, hiking beautiful spots in nature, climbing (very novice), doing handstands and everything circus I would like to try.
My dream is to build a retreat center surrounded by nature in a cliff with ocean view, a place for a community to gather.
I speak Spanish, English, Catalan, French and know barely how to say a few things in German and trying Portuguese too.
I come from three different cultures: Mexican, “American” and Spanish/Catalan. ( My dad Is American, mom is Mexican grew up in Spain).
I have 2 cats waiting for me in Mexico. I love animals. I eat plant based when I can, but not actually vegan. Love cheese but lactose intolerant :( .
PHILOSOPHY
You can't ever say never to something, or life/fate/destiny ( or whatever you call it) will slap you and teach you that anything is possible!
I also think we are what we believe in and I choose to believe in kindness, respect and empathy. I like to make myself responsible for my behavior and life choices. Apologizing and amending things when screwing up.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I’ve had the chance to be hosted by so many amazing people in different cities and while I have had some not so great experiences being hosted too I keep the great ones alive.
I haven’t hosted people from Couchsurfing but I’ve always welcomed friends from friends in my house and I find great joy in sharing my space in Mexico.
P.S: Maybe it's impossible to get to know every single soul on earth, but being open to connect can bring so much peace to this world.

Music, Movies, and Books
Movies: Capitan Fantastic, In the mood for Love (Wong Kar-Wai), Inception, El secreto de sus ojos, Jeux d'enfants, Amelie, all Almodóvar. And I'm pretty sure I forgot the best ones!
Music: Música medicina, New Soul, Classical, Indie Folk, Jazz, Blues, Swing, Alternative Rock and almost anything that has a latin flavor to dance!
Books: Breaking the habit of being yourself, Non violent communication, The power of Now. Jane Austen, the Brontes and anything Carlos Ruiz Zafon wrote. I know it may not count as literature but Dr. Seuss is my favorite writer for kids, I still relish all his books!
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I’ve solo travelled with a touring bicycle in Germany. Also a late bloomer: Started surfing, skating, longboard dancing and slacklining/highlining at 28.
I once read this: " If you put a seed in the concrete and it grows, even if the flower is scratched and "ugly", you are not going to care that the plant didn't turn perfect, you're going to be amazed by the fact that life came out of concrete! "
Teach, Learn, Share
I’m always up to learn new things, every person I meet has given me a new perspective in life and it’s always mind blowing that so many things are based on perspective.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I must confess I don’t travel light. I bring lots of FUN stuff with me. I can teach you slacklining, skateboarding, some surfing tips and Mexican slang ;).
I can also give great encouragement for you to try things you’ve been postponing forever.
