About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Meet interesting people with interesting stories.

ABOUT ME

Self descriptions are not easy, and are likely to be either misleading or so generic as to be useless. Who on here doesn't love to travel, doesn't love good food, doesn't love to meet interesting new people, etc.? I guess it's probably enough to say that I consider myself a decent person and can (and do) get along with just about anyone. Here is my personal site with various things that interest me: http://natha.nkinka.de/

PHILOSOPHY

In an absolute sense nothing really matters all that much. Therefore, I try to not let what is bother me too much. Also: http://donewith.info

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've met a few couchsurfers who stayed with a friend in town, and they were super interesting people. I have also now hosted a couple people, which was a lot of fun. Also, a few years back I also got to know a number of Couchsurfing employees down in Bocas del Toro, Panama, and they were all great people.

Interests

Beach, sand, water, boats, books.

Music, Movies, and Books

I find Victorian English writing very compelling, but I'm not quite sure why. I haven't even read a tremendous amount of it. One book that left an impression on me was "The Return of the Native" by Thomas Hardy. The travel writings of Sir Richard Francis Burton were also very interesting. I can enjoy just about any style of writing, but I'm mostly drawn to non-fiction.

I listen to a mix of rock, blue, raggae and jazz.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I had an unforgettable opportunity to sail from Norfolk, Virginia to St. Thomas, USVI on a 57 foot ketch. Going a solid week without seen land was amazing, and humbling.

Countries I’ve Visited

Bahamas, Germany, Guatemala, Honduras, Poland, Qatar

Countries I’ve Lived In

Belize, Mexico, Panama, United States, Virgin Islands, U.S.
