About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Live in Japan for 1 year post college graduation

ABOUT ME

I grew up two-third of my years in the country outside of Portland, OR with my mother and step-father. We would often go snowboarding, white water rafting and camping. The dogs would often join.

The other third of my years were spent with my father in Los Angeles, though we often travelled around the world. For five summers we set out to ride ever roller coaster in the world, which brought us to Australia, Japan, most of Western Europe, Canada and all across the US. Our total is somewhere above 450 roller coasters.

I recently graduated from college at Emerson, in Boston. I study music production as well as psychology, but my secret goal in life is to be Jon Stewart.

I derive no greater joy in life than from good conversation with friends, whether it be about music, films, life, friends, or random observations that only we may find funny.

PHILOSOPHY

"Good conversation is punctuated by even better interruptions" Toni Celia

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I had the pleasure of hosting several wonderful people over a two year stretch of living in Boston. I feel I made some good friends who I one day hope to visit. I believe the world is a small place and CS makes it even smaller.

I am now traveling through Japan and having a great time being on the opposite side of the couch, so to speak.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have only hosted, but I hope that changes soon. The best experiences for me were being able to show people around Boston, a city I grew to love over the four years I lived there. Especially for foreign travelers, there's no better city in America to learn about the history of our nation.

Interests

I have been a snowboarder for 12 years and always enjoy riding new slopes.

Piano, bass, and recording musicians when they come through WERS radio, where I work as an engineer.

I enjoy a good game of Scrabble, Chess, Mario Kart, or any other friendly and competitive game. Always interested in learning new card games.

Mostly just enjoy getting to know new people. I like to think that all people are people, and while we have many differences, especially with regards to culture, at our core, we're all very similar.
