ABOUT ME

After enjoying the perks of living in amazing Rotterdam as an exchange student and finishing a degree in Jyväskylä, I moved to Helsinki and I already loved this city.

My field of specialization is logistics: for some this can sound boring. But I like everything related to it and really interested by all current trends in this field. Also I can discuss about IT development and startups probably forever :)

Interests

-travelling. I'm that guy who's constantly thinking "Damn, it would be great to get away from routine and make a sudden bike journey/camping weekend/etc" and never does it. Couchsurfing should make me more flexible from this point :)

-sports. Love football since remembering myself and hockey since moving to Finland (otherwise you're an outcast there:). Couple of months ago started to learn kickboxing, this is a pure fun.

-music. I know how to play piano and keyboards and even took part in band (but our first real concert was our last one). So now I'm just a listener.

-journalism. In high school I was writing something for a local newspaper, now mostly reading, but sometimes still write by myself.

-food products. I am not a foodie and do not share every meal to Instagram, but unknown dishes and food materials always take my interest. Last summer I tried to establish a small scale herbal tea production, but due to the lack of time I had to postpone this project.

Music, Movies, and Books

Movies&Series: Fincher's Gone Girl and The Social Network, Boyhood, Pulp Fiction and Inglourious Basterds by Tarantino. I do not mind watching sitcoms (Friends are the best forever, HIMYM and Silicon Valley are good too) and animation like Gravity Falls and Adventure Time; but there are some dramatic series (Mad Men, House of Cards..) that I really loved.

Talking about music: there are trillions of bands that I enjoy. Absolute favorites: Arcade Fire, RHCP, The White Stripes, some atmospheric metal names (Agalloch, Solstafir), japanese experimental and hiphop music (World's End Girlfriend, Toe, Nujabes), folk, jazz...

Heinlein is undoubtedly the most beloved novelist; also I really appreciate Michail Bulgakov, Philip K. Dick, Neil Gaiman, Ray Bradbury. And Douglas Adams who taught me The Answer to the Ultimate Question of Life, The Universe, and Everything :D

Teach, Learn, Share

What to share? Stories, of course! For me (hopefully, as for everyone here) is a pleasure to learn about other cultures, tell about some of the my experiences. Cultural interchange in the coolest thing invented by humanity.

...and food. I love to cook (my flatmates even more), so if anyone come to our place in Helsinki, he/she would be treated by all Russian and Finnish standards. I enjoy trying different cuisines as well and I can eat literally everything, so feel free to propose something yours, I'd appreciate that.
