About Me

* NOTE: I've been getting a lot of messages and would like to reply to all of them but it's, well, a lot. I really appreciate it if you send a personal message (maybe explaining why you think we would get along), and will always try to answer those.*

I signed up for couchsurfing in 2011, because a friend told me about it and it sounded really cool. I didn't have a place to host, but I liked the idea of meeting up with people and showing them the cool places in Amsterdam. However, I got caught up in roller derby, which took over my life for five wonderful years. Through derby I've hosted a lot of people. I quit in 2016, because as wonderful as it is, I wanted something new, so now it's couchsurfing time!

I'm a video editor who loves everything art. Movies, series, books, museums, performance, and much more. I'm also very much into anything food or drink related. I love trying out new flavours, either by trying to cook stuff myself or by going to new restaurants.
I used to work for a bike tour company as a guide and I enjoy showing people cool stuff I've discovered.
My biggest dream is to one day have a dog. Also my latest obsession is plants. Plantmom.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I feel like meeting new people is the best way to broaden your horizons, which is cool, because, hey, it's interesting, but even more so I feel like it helps with understanding yourself and other people and becoming a better person all around.
For me the best way to get to know a city is through the ppl that live there.

Interests

I'm looking for a new hobby and have been getting more and more interested in sustainable living/making stuff yourself. I've transformed my balcony from a barren wasteland to a green oasis (with a wormhotel!) and my goal for next spring is to find plants that bees like and can live on balconies. If anyone has any tips, would love to hear them!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've grown an avocadoplant from a seed.

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm setting up a thing where I'm teaching non dutch speakers dutch by watching movies and playing games. Probably not the fastest way, but for sure the funnest.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I know a lot of random (possibly useless) facts. I also enjoy cooking and love to get creative in the kitchen. I can fix a flat tire on a bike. I can bend my thumbs behind the back of my hand which will entertain you for a solid five seconds. Depending on how long I've been travelling, I can offer you stroopwafels, which is the best thing the Netherlands has to offer.

Countries I’ve Visited

Andorra, Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Norway, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Turkey, United Kingdom, United States

Countries I’ve Lived In
