About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Enjoy the journey of life and have some amazing experiences along the way! Teach, educate, learn, and inspire!
ABOUT ME
Hey! I'm Nick. I'm 30, and I am a native Californian who moved to Greenwood, Mississippi in 2014 to be a teacher with Teach
For America. I teach 7th grade math and coach varsity cross country track at the local high school. I attended university at UC Santa Barbara where I majored in Political Science and rowed Crew. Prior to moving out to Mississippi I worked at a liquor store for 2 years and in the Los Angeles film industry for about three years. I like the outdoors and everything associated with it (skiing, hiking, surfing, kayaking, to name a few)! I am always looking for a new adventure, new cuisines, and interesting people. I love meeting new people and gaining new and different perspectives on life and the world around me. Different cultures and ways of life fascinate me, and it is one of my life goals to see the world in its entirety. However, I would rather see the world through the eyes of locals rather than as a tourist (but don't we all). I'm pretty outgoing and easy to get along with, and I enjoy meeting new people!
PHILOSOPHY
I live my life by Ghandi's quote of "Be the change you wish to see in the world." It is definetly my goal in life to change the world for the better and make a difference in the lives of people from all corners of the globe.
Life is to short to be anything but happy!
I would rather regret the things I have done than the things I have not.
If you can DREAM IT, you can DO IT!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Opening my home to travelers that want to explore Mississippi and more specifically the Greenwood/Mississippi Delta region.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I have hosted 3 times at my flat in Valencia, countless times in Santa Barbara, and twice since moving to Mississippi. All experiences were very positive, and it was exciting to meet such intriguing people.
I had my first experiences surfing while on a road trip through the Southwestern United States, and they were some really great times that I will never forget. I can't wait to hit the road again and meet new people.

I basically like all types of music, except for the punk/screamo stuff.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
My German Adventure that I took the summer after I graduated high school is (so far) the most amazing thing that I have done in my life. Seeing the German cities, castles, culture, and countryside was breathtaking and an experience I will never forget.
