ABOUT ME

I moved back to the USafter spending the better part of 10 years living in France. I enjoy traveling and sharing with people from cultures other than my own.

PHILOSOPHY

I see my life as a novel. I live chapter by chapter. If it's going to be worth reading someday, I have to make it interesting. This seems to work pretty well for me, although sometimes I wish I could skip to the last page to see how it all ends up.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I love to host and I try to find opportunities to surf when travelling. I like to go to local CS events to meet other surfers whenever possible.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've surfed a little and hosted more. I've known CSers for many years and though I did informal surfing quite a bit over the years, I finally got myself a couch capable of hosting a few years ago. I love it and have not yet been disappointed by the people I've met!

Interesses

I LOVE to cook and have dinner guests. Reading (anything, but mostly fiction), politics (when they don't drive me mad), rock climbing (although not recently), knitting (when I have the time), photography, walking, music, and the list goes on.

Músicas, Filmes e Livros

I like independent films and French comedies. I like discovering music that is little-known or from other cultures (a bit of a music snob--that's me!); most forms of alternative. Books, it's easier to say what I don't like: no romance novels, no westerns, no war novels unless they contain a greater message than 'blood, guts, kill'.

one meter of fluffy, marshmallowy snow fell within a 12 hour period. it was amazing and beautiful, and it only lasted a couple days since it wasn't very cold.

i have taught ESL and am fluent in speaking through body language (with a mix of sound effects). i am pretty crafty and can teach anything that i can make, including beginner knitting. i would love to learn to draw, but my problem is more a lack of talent than practice.
