About Me

I study Comparative Literature at the University of Copenhagen, but have moved to Santa Barbara, California to do a full exchange year here. I hope to get time to travel around the states during studybreaks.
Before that I've lived in Germany for two years, first in a small village doing volunteer work with children with disabilities and later in Berlin, where I really felt at home. Still ended moving back to Copenhagen to start my studies at the university, and ended up falling in love with that city all over again.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm on couchsurfing because getting to know a place through someone who knows and loves it, is more valuable than any guidebook. Because seeing a place through somebody's eyes makes it more memorable, more meaningful.

I've never hosted anyone because my flats were too small, too tight. But I slept a bit on other peoples couches, in Berlin, in Morocco, and have had really nice experiences.

Interests

I love to read books and talk about books; love listening to people telling me about their favourite reads. Any kind of book talk, really. Going to public readings and poetry events. Also other kind of artsy stuff, events, etc.

I prefer getting around on bike. I'm still trying to become better at fixing up and maintaining my own bikes. It's a slow process, but by now I can change tires, tubes and chains, so that's something at least.

I like being active in different kinds of way. Biking being one of them. Swimming, in the sea, ocean, or lakes, is another one. I used to boulder, or rockclimb, some time back and really want to start doing that again.

Other than that I've been doing a bit of radio with the local uni-radio in Copenhagen, and think that's a lot of fun, especially the editing part. I really need to listen to more podcasts.
