About Me
Hello everyone! I'm Noah. Recently done with grad school and pursuing new adventures before my research resumes. Which, thankfully, will take me to Portland, where all are welcome.
I'm a very open minded kind of guy. New foods, new world, new experiences... I seek everything. Also, an old soul kind of guy. Meet me and you'll understand.
I have an abiding love of all animals and spend time rescuing as many as I can.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I'm just starting out on Couch Surfing, but I want to make this part of my life. I like it here so far, but I'm new, so please be patient.
I'm looking to welcome new people when I settle down, which will be in Portland, OR.
And before than, I'm looking for cool people to go on adventures with while I'm in Vietnam. I'm hoping to pull together a group to travel the north for 3 or 4 days on a fun road trip. I'll do it solo if I have to, but it would be amazing to find a good group.
Also, while I'm in Saigon and just around.. I want to meet people! Especially locals and anyone who has a great love of the country that I'm going to explore. If you love showing Vietnam to new people, I'm your next subject.
Interests
EVERYTHING. Almost limitless here. Generally, I prefer quiet to loud, and nature to technology. But if you have something you think is fun, I'm in.
I love math, working out, dogs, cooking (and eating), bad movies, good conversation, travel, cookouts, fires and fireplaces, nature... the list goes on.

Music, Movies, and Books
Music: Anything from video games. I am, yes, a nerd. Also, zen and meditation music.
Movies: So many. But I have a soft spot for really, really bad movies. Looking at you, Birdemic.
Books: Palahniuk, Nietzsche, Harry Potter, Calvin and Hobbes, Shakespeare
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Visited Bagby hot springs in Portland. An amazing hike, amazing pictures, waterfalls, and beautiful, steaming hot water to bathe in. And fresh made donuts after.
Also, less amazing but no less fun, s'mores roasted over a candle during a rainstorm.
