About Me
Hello there! I have been on this site for 4 years or so, and in that time have hosted a handful of lovely people.
Here are a couple of bullet points to whet your appetite:
*I work in a hospital.
*I'm a minimalist, frugal, low-maintenance, etc.
*I'm very conscientious, polite and reserved in my interactions with others, but I still have a personality.
*I'm very logical, and appreciate straightforwardness. I am honest to a fault.
*I'm more inclined to introversion when meeting new people, but once you crack the shell I'm afraid it's all fun and laughs from then on out.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I originally intended to find willing hosts for travel to foreign countries (namely Italy) but my attempts at travel thus far have been thwarted by my work schedule. I really appreciate one-on-one interaction and the prospects of conversations in getting to know one's host. I always revel in listening to personal experience.
Interests
I enjoy museums and art galleries (as one had better if they intend to travel).
In my spare time I am out grabbing a drink with friends, reading, listening to/producing music, running out in the forest, swimming, or training martial arts.
I occupy myself with learning various foreign languages, philosophy, socio-psychology, physiognamy, and lamenting what unknown treasures were lost in the Library of Alexandria. Physics, astrophysics, cosmology, many other sciences come easy to me, and I enjoy keeping abreast of current events in those fields.
I enjoy cooking, thoroughly. To that end, I adore watching people cook. I LOVE joining them.

Music, Movies, and Books
Music:
I do enjoy a wide range of music genres, some of which are quite obscure. I am always open to trying something new out. Classical, Rock, Rap, Metal, EDM, House, Dubstep, Trap, Pop, I do most of it. Examples:
Opeth, Arctic Monkeys, Depeche Mode, Kaleida, Electric Six, Placebo, A Perfect Circle, Tool, Orgy, Floater, Bowie, The Cure, Interpol, Gogol Bordello, Infected Mushroom, The Mars Volta, Sonata Arctica, Rammstein, Rhapsody of Fire, and so on.
Film:
I know how to differentiate between legitimately 'good' movies and those with flashy lights and loud explosions. That is not to say that I don't enjoy them on occasion.
Stargate, Le Notti di Cabiria, The Man from Earth, Wolf, Dark City, The Crow, Ink, The Call of Cthulhu, The Three Caballeros, The Thing, The Protector, Riso Amaro, Daddy Long Legs, Русский Ковчег, Faust (1926), (500) Days of Summer, The Grand Budapest Hotel, Malena, The Girl with The Dragon Tattoo, Dune, Contact, Interstellar, Book of Eli... just to name a few highbrow titles. *pinky in the air*
Books:
Most books I read deal with science, science fiction, fantasy, philosophy, medicine, or linguistics. Some of my acquired favourites over the years include:
Diary of a Superfluous Man, Hero of Our Time, Faust, Pillars of the Earth, The Celestine Prophecy, Una Donna, Hunter's Tales, H.P. Lovecraft, Turgenev, Lermontov, Gogol, Pushkin, and many a post-Soviet-era woman author. Of Italian poetry: Cellini, Lorenzo de' Medici, Pirandello, Montale, Corazzini, Saba, Ungaretti, Messina, Deledda, et cetera.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I help save lives on a regular basis. I think that's pretty swell.
I was a vigilante crime fighter when I attended university.
Teach, Learn, Share
I teach what I can where I can, but people are never asking the right questions. I enjoy learning far more by comparison.
I share food, drink, entertainment, monetary resources, transportation when possible.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I would love to contribute to the hosts' lives by helping incur part of the cost and labor of cooking meals. I can also help with chores around the house! I do intend to be out walking around most of the day.
I can also massage (shiatsu and deep tissue).
