About Me
CURRENT MISSION
We're recent college grads who are looking for some crazy European adventures prior to settling down for life in the "real world"
ABOUT ME
Hello couchsurfing! We're Noah and Chelsea, two recent college grads looking to explore Europe together. We're generally pretty outgoing, adventurous people, looking to make new connections, see new places, and travel as much as possible. We're pretty easy-going types, willing to go with the flow and follow our impulses, which may or may not always work in our favor ;). We're still young and now is the time to travel and see the world, you know, gain some perspective after living our first 20-odd years in the US. We've already done a bit of traveling to places as diverse as Madagascar and Jamaica. We feel that the more places we go, the better we are able to expand our field of knowledge and open our minds to different experiences and cultures. We're outgoing, and we like to have fun but we're not loud, obnoxious types either (most of the time, anyway). We've got a lot of energy, and we're looking to spread the love Europe-style.
PHILOSOPHY
We're both pretty liberal people - we believe that you should have the right to express yourself however you want so long as it doesn't hurt those around you - pretty standard, eh? But really we just try to be the best people we can be - we don't judge too harshly and we always try to put the best foot forward. We love all living things and beieve in treating every life as a commodity just as important as our own. We're not particularly religious, but we don't have any problems with those who are. We try to stay cool and associate with cool people. If you've got a good attitude and you're a nice person, chances are we'll like you and you'll like us.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
We're new to couchsurfing, so we haven't had a chance to participate much yet. We're hoping to change that come August when we begin our multi-month tour de Europe. We just learned about couchsurfing prior to our current travels so we haven't yet hosted any other nomads but we are very open to having visitors once we return to the States since we truly understand the benefits of cheap (or free) lodging. As we have just graduated into one of the toughest economies and job markets in recent history we realize that everyone is trying to stretch their dollar/euro/whatever as far as possible. This is one of the reasons we think Couchsurfing is such a great instituation but we also see this as an opportunity to meet lots of different people with different views, interests, experiences and ideas of what living a fulfilling life entails.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Like we said, experience is nil so far but we're excited to meet some new, friendly people who might be willing to harbor a couple backpackers for a night or so.
Noah: I've lived with host families in Mexico and Italy, so that's a sort of extended couchsurf, if you will. I've also hosted a kid from Mexico and a girl from Turkey, so there's that as well.

Music, Movies, and Books
Where to start? We watch a lot of movies and listen to a lot of music. Recently watched Inception which was damn good. Otherwise we like Kubrick, Scorcese, Tarantino, Coen Bros. We're also big on TV shows like Lost, Breaking Bad, The Wire, and Arrested Development.
Music-wise we listen to a lot of Indie stuff and all kinds of hip-hop. Some favorites include Radiohead, Muse, Sufjan Stevens, Notorious BIG, Outkast, The Shins, Clipse, Arcade Fire, The Flaming Lips and many many more. We both love seeing live performaces, whether it's a well-known group in a large stadium or local bands in small, intimate settings. To us, there's really nothiing like seeing a band first hand.
Books: Currently we're reading Shantaram (Chelsea) and The Girl Who Played With Fire (Noah).
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Noah: Probably either the insane beauty of Cinque Terre in Italy or the view from my mom's rocky, undeveloped plot of land on the tiny island of Ikaria in Greece are tops for me in terms of pure visual amazement, but I'm not knocking the musical Baptist Church in Jamaica or the Musee d'Orsay in Paris. Or anything in the Netherlands for that matter ;)
Teach, Learn, Share
Noah: Well I could talk all day about film and music, so if you're into that sorta thing there's a lot we could learn about each other. Also getting interested in cooking, so I'm always looking for new recipes and I might be able to share a couple of my own, crude as they may be :)
